Is FIFA 10 Scripted?

I've seen a lot of threads on this subject recently so I thought I would put it to the vote.

In my view, I think FIFA 10 is scripted and it is very plain to see.

Love FIFA football games, couldn’t put 2009 down....but this one, with the scripted feeling and the AI being a bit predictable it’s just not got that edge. Will have to get used to it though because PES is Pesh!

WC i can live with. win most of my games but some with great difficulty and annoyance. but legendary lol EA what did you do? making them even more inhuman compared to 08 and 09 is just not fair nor enjoyable. especially if you want to play with Manual/Semi settings. all tho i think it's more they make our CPU controlled AI on my team useless. they don't mark dangerous runs even if I set up man-marking - tactics.

In MM theres certain times in the game that are scripted such as when you score, from the resulting kick off the other team will miraculously find a way to equalise immediately and you are lucky if you don't concede a goal. If you are losing or drawing a game, the other team will keep the ball from 85 mins onwards and you can hardly ever get it back. This is on legendary difficulty though.

IMHO it's not scripted (offline at least).

I have however noticed a certain 'bias' if you will sometimes in certain games. Passes just don't seem to connect, shots just won't go on target and the oppostion has more of the ball for apparently no reason.

Personally I think this is down to sometimes your team has am 'off' game (at least in MM thats how it feels).

I have experienced this in lounge mode as well, when friends sometimes find it very easy to score and I can't do anything about it, and then I thump him 4-0 in the next game.

I think it has more to do with how you play the game, I find if I am having an 'off - scripted' game, if I take the time to slow it down, change the way I play and make some simple passes that connect, it gets the team mentality a little more 'on - less scripted' and as a result I generally pull something back.

Haven't played much online but from what I have played, it's a similar feeling. Sometimes I can feel my team is playing well and I expect a good result. It doesn't always happen.

The same applies in the oppostie situation though, sometimes I feel my team are just trying to lose because the result is alreayd pre-determined, but somehow I pull it back. Sometimes I don't.

I just take the rough with the smooth.

If it was totally pre-determined who is going to win a game I agree it is no fun, but in real life a team can be in fine form (take United in the CL final for example) and get totally dominated (admittedly by a much better team in that case) by another team without much explanation.

To reference that game again, the first 20 minutes seemed like United would pose some sort of a threat, then they just gave up and the 'scripting' took over.

You just don't always get the result you expect or deserve. Personally I think it's down to that.

(Give it a few months for me to hit the online a bit harder and I'm sure I'll be ranting about it!).

Incidentally, I have only played Pro up to now, played a few WC and seemed to difficult but I think that was because I wasn't used to the game yet and how to actually play it properly compared to '09.

Lol stick it on Legendary, Then when you get the ball and your being closed down move the right stick up and down and in directions really quick. Watch the AI player shake as it's reading the movements from your control pad.

Some of the common issues:

• Passes are underpowered
• Opposition players are suddenly stronger than your players
• Your players don't make runs anymore eliminating any chance creation
• Drogba gets shoved off by players half his size
• You start to lose every header battle
• You miss an open net after a rebound
• Every pass is blocked by the opposition (your players pass straight into their feet)

This list can go on.

3.theres loads of reasons mate,im one guy who can take a defeat,but some games are shocking,i even think its scripted when i win!,for instance take this example of a game i had,

played this guy he was winning 3-0 in the 80th min he was all over me i mean this guy was good i was lucky i wasnt 6-0 down,i couldnt get the ball ect,but in the last 10 mins the game was totally changed he couldnt string one pass together not even simple ones mate,once i got the ball he couldnt get it off me every pass i was doing was going where i wanted it to and even when he intercepted it would somehow end up in the path of my player,also walcott ( i was arsenal) was pushing vidic ect out the way lol he couldnt push me off the ball atall in those 10 mins i felt invinceable it was that bad lol,anyway i scored 3 goals in 10 mins and it could of been more,i even had the nerve to question how i never won that lol.There was a definite change in game by something,i mean this guy ripped me to shreds, and i can honestly say thats not the only time its happend.

(This is an example for one game,others have been diffrent but in the same way as the game changeing sometimes in my favour sometimes in theres.)

Hey i love fifa the bugs ect are annoying but i wouldnt play anyother football game i love it. i dont come on here and make lalalala up man im not 12,imo thats why i think its scripted and as i said its not the first time its happend there has been plenty.

Ever thought of the player giving the controller to some one else as he probably thought 3 nil up, easy win (no offense), the other player was obviously not as good as the one who you were playing against up until 80 mins, no?
