Default Demo Impressions

Sorry im posting this late. But this are my cousin from Germany's impressions of FIFA10 after playing the demo at Gamescom. Once again, sorry ive posted this late. Im only going to mention a few things. I might do the others some other time.

Crowd Realism!
Im tellin ya, this is amazing. The crowd attendences do vary depending on form. The colours of the home team are scattered around the stadium. Good thing is say the home team is Chelsea and you play Bayern at Stamford Bridge, There would be lots of blue and perhaps just 1 or two bays of red in the corner. Pretty realistic i think. The crowd animations are much smoother. The reactions to goals, cards etc are good. I can tell you this because i used instant replay for goals as you cant tell with the camera on most normal replays. Overall the crowds in FIFA10 are defenantly the best yet.

Freedom in Physical Play!
One of my favourite features. This feature was one of the best because it made it much tougher to get through the defence. I played as Bayern and managed to get one on one with John Terry. I tried to go around him. I did but he came back with pace and went shoulder to shoulder with my attacker. I was ready to shoot, but he pushed my player away from the ball so the keeper could easily take the ball. This looked realistic because it was as if the defender was sheilding the ball from me to the keeper. Loved it. My player didn't fall so there were no appeals.

Referee's!
Speaking of appeals. I managed to make a run into the box with Andreas Iniesta. I was one on one with John Terry. I got passed him and tried to run around the keeper as he charged out. I tapped the ball past him and he took my player down. A few players on my team near the incedent actually raised their arms and i could hear a few words.. very realistic. I didn't get the free kick. I looked at the replay through instant replay and i noticed the goalkeepers chest was the part of the body that took my player down. I tried to do the same thing to see what would happen with if i was taken down with the hands/arms. I tried and tried but i couldn't do it. After a few games i went over to watch a few other gamers give it a go. Instantly i found one gamer in the same situation. The player was taken down by the keeper (arms and all). Snap! Penalty.. Red Card to Petr Cech. The guy missed the pen, but still. I like how EA have done this.

Im very busy with other stuff at the moment. Ill post the rest another time..
Cheers

Yes keepers get sent off! Finally crowd realism! Thanks for posting! Btw when ur keeper gets sents off, and you don't have a goalkeeper on the bench, can u put an outfield player in goal?

He said he doesn't know, as you can see in the post it was another gamer that he was watching.

Personally i hope so, ill tell him to keep me updated if he finds out anything. Sorry i couldn't confirm it. Im sure you can though. It would be a bit stupid if you cant.

Its because the game wasnt a 100% confirmed. You cant tell when the game is actually played. When you get the game, score a goal, use instant replay, look at the crowd. You should see a difference.

yes....i've seen some improvments, when someone scores a gol....but i still see a terrible crowd jumping during the game.....for example the corner.....whole crowd jumps in the same way without reason...not good to see.....probably, as you said, in the final built they fix it.

Thanx for the info! Great post! I have one question though, hope u have the answer:

Can we FINALLY have more than 8 user controlled teams in offline tournament play? Or at least be able to play as the CPU against my friends team?

It's so boring that EA seems to have forgotten how fun it is to gather a few friends and play in front of the same TV. As it is now, me and my friend can only play in offline tournaments with 8 teams because I don't wanna sit and watch when my friends plays the CPU teams.

It would be great to be able to play a 64-team offline tournament. Me and my friend choose 1 team each, the rest is CPU-teams. Instead of just sitting and watching my friend when he plays a game against á CPU-team I should be able to control the CPU-team during that match.

This was "in the game" several years ago both on FIFA and NHL. Why not now, EA? Is it so hard to implement?

i asked him and he said as far as he knows it's still only 8 user controlled teams. But he said that there could be a change in the completed version.
BTW: The rest of the demo impressions will be up sometime tomorrow. Australian Time. (Midnight) right now. So at about 10 maybe..

No problem. In the post tomorrow, this is exactly what i will mention in the post.
Attacking Improvements (Urgancy, movement, heading etc..)
Defending Improvements (FIphysical Play, urgancy, clearances, tackling etc..)
Cards, Decisions, offsides
The Gameplay Itself!

Thats pretty much all Micheal has given me, but id like to thank him for getting the info for us all. Just ask me a question and ill msg Micheal and get right back you ASAP.

They will be. If they are promoting it as a feature then it must be.
