Default Goalkeepers - License to Kill

Let me start off by saying that I’m really excited about the new goalkeepers in FIFA 10. I was so happy when I saw Mandanda falling for Benzema’s fake shot in the FIFA 10 teaser. He didn’t score, but I don’t care, looks sick! Can’t wait to try it out!

With the all new 360 degree dribbling system and more realistic goalkeepers, I imagine the GK can foul you pretty bad. If they come running at you and you fake them out then try to go on either side I bet they’re gonna slide tackle all over the place attempting to get the ball. Usually, when a goalkeeper fouls someone it’s around the goal area and the person was definitely in a good scoring position, so a late challenge by the goalkeeper usually results in a direct sending off…. In real life that is… In FIFA 09, the goalkeepers could do whatever they wanted. They could get booked once, but that’s it. No sending offs… Unrealistic and frustrating at times.

I really hope the GK’s can get sent off in FIFA 10… and I’m sure EA’s already fixed that. If not then, wow… just wow…

Anyway, looking forward to the game and I bet you do to!

H

EDIT: It's confirmed that the goalkeepers can get sent off. Sorry for not doing proper research about this before posting.

Looking at my post I reilize now that it was very much based on the GK getting sent off... Which wasn't really what my point was. I was just wondering what you guys thought the 1-on-1 situations with the GK would be like. Do you think he'll fall for every move if you time it correctly? Is he gonna play dirty and go for late tackles to stop you from scoring?

If GKs are able to get sent off, would it be possible to bring on your substitue 'keeper (if you have one) to replacement a field player?

Goalkeepers can get red carder. i have had mine sent off several times for doing slide tackles. You can bring on whatever player you want to replace him. But if you put in an outfield player, they are not very good

i hope that keepers can get sent off, changes the whole context of the game and makes it far more realistic

Not in 09 they can't. EA admitted that goalkeepers could never be sent off in 09, but they will be able to in 10.

Well there have been multiple threads and a lot of information given out about goalkeepers and a big deal was made by EA when they announced that "goalkeepers can now be sent off".

I imagine his response is his way of saying "If you read the information in the sticky threads you would already know that goalkeepers can be sent off".

LOL, that coming from the guy that made these threads:

I am handing out free losses on PS3

Who dares to play me on PS3?

We fear you, astonishingly amazing FIFA 09 player...

I did that to stir people up, and to find a decent match. I apologise for making you search through my old posts when you could have used that time to continue worshiping your coveted "legend".
