Marcel, during manager mode do we get to create our manager or just name? Also when we sign a player would we get to see some sort of formal signing, i.e. player lifts the jersey?

Regarding manager mode, will it be possible to play in the European leagues(CHL, Europa League ) in the 1. season? Like, is the qualifying teams from last season implemented to play the european leagues, in your first manager season in fifa 10?

Can the CPU players do skill tricks in FIFA 10 Manager Mode? This would add a lot to Manager Mode, because the CPU teams would feel more different. In 09 all they can do is sprint, pass and do a shot feint to try to get past you, this is not enough. People like Ronaldo that are famous for their skills should use them in the game.

Yes but only according to the reputation you've build. Say you managed a league 1 team and get sacked, then maybe some lesser league 1 team would want you and some League 2 teams and ofcourse smaller teams from other countries.

You won't be able to choose from all the teams like before after getting sacked.

Hmmm, something just came to mind. Whenever I won promotion weeks before the last league day, my team were just celebrating the win of the match and never realized they were champions!

Is this fixed Marcel? Seeing as we don't have trophy celebrations, it would be nice to have something to feel emotional about on our screens... instead of a newspaper headline after the season.

Marcel, just a quick question. If you get promoted/relegated to a different division with a team, do their divisional badges change in accordance to that. for example, if i was Reading, on the kit it will have the Coca Cola Championship badge on the players sleave. now if i was promoted to the premiership, would this badge change into the Barclays Premier League badge on the sleave (with the lion and all that)

plus if you notice the champions of the previous year of the premiership always have a goldern version of the premiership badge... i probably know the answer to this but i would love this to be implimented in the next installment because im sick of seeing my team from a lower league in the prem with their league 2 badge on their sleave

Still though, will it be possible for programmers to implement a bias towards homegrown players in the scouting system, e.g. if you are managing Mallorca, you are scouting in Europe but the results will contain a small majority of Spanish players, reflecting the fact that you are managing a Spanish club in a Spanish league. Players would draw a lot of satisfaction from building clubs based around homegrown talent, like the current Barca squad or Fergie's '99 Utd. team.

Also, scouting regions need to be localised, South America is too broad a category for example. I think people are expecting too much if they are asking for country by country scouting on a console sim, (leave that to PC games with sizeable memory capacity). Rather than have scouts trawling South America break it into three regions, Brazil, Argentina and Rest of S. America. Brazil is a football factory, producing players who ply their trade in leagues all over the world. You may find talented players here when scouting but there may be riskier bargains available if you choose to scout in the Rest of S. America region. I think it would some much needed colour to Manager Mode.

Also, any chance we can see computer generated Brazilian players with trademark futbol nicknames like Kleber, Pepe, Dunga etc.?

I want to say to mr.Marcel to thank what you did to fifa 10 but i think it need more things such as get
-swap players with the deal
-Other clubs can show interest in the players and you can give to them offer and they may accept or decinle
-players present when you buy them.

Just so you don't forget:
When playing ECC against teams that are not in the league you play in, they have full stamina. Could you fix that please?
For example, I play with Arsenal against Barcelona in ECC. I have tired players because of a recent game, but Barcelona have 100%stamina left. I hope you understand what i mean here

Another thing: Player ratings and team of the season. This was broken in 09 IMO, especially the latter. You would see players that had only played one match in the team of the season. Huge atmosphere breaker.
Also ratings. I've found it very hard to get as high ratings as the CPU in all the manager modes i've played, even though I'm winning season after season. Subsequently, none of my players end up in the Team of the Season. I would love to hear what (if any) you've done to fix this.

The opportunity cost explanation makes sense but I still doesn't really explain 1) How you determine how often a certain feature is used, and if you do have a method, how you determined that a feature that was used by a TON of people somehow was hardly used at all and 2) Why you took it out in the first place if it was already in the game.

I can understand that implementing a new feature in the next game takes away from the other things that you can work on but it was already in the previous title. Are you saying that it perhaps takes more time to port the feature over to the new game as it's got a new interface that you've got to work it into? I mean, coming from the previous FIFA to 09 the menus and screens are going to look a little different but I don't recall much about the MM's screens looking so vastly different from 08 that keeping the same kit number editing feature in place would significantly add to the development time of the game.

I only ask because it seems like you're a proponent of customization in games, but then you make a comment about the stadium renaming being a test to see how many use it which would seem to imply that if not many people do you might remove it. I just don't see how actually removing customization options from the game after putting them in helps. I'm sure there are some customization options in that "other soccer game" that a ton of users might not use ALL THE TIME , but customization options are just that, options, and I would figure that once you put them in, you let 'em stay no?

In Fifa 09, I found it really easy to fine players around 80 overall by sending my scout out. I was Wolves and after 2 years I had a team of all fake players which my scout had found for me and i was playing in Europe. Has anyone else done this? and if so, has it been fixed?

Too true, please can people stop clogging this thread up with questions about player cosmetics and areas Marcel clearly will have no input into - MM is being restructured from the ground up... changing a players hairstyle mid season just doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things.
Also, guys, please READ what's already been answered - FIFAsoccerblog have done a neat summing up of what Marcel has said so far.
I think EA are doing us a great service by coming on this forum and answering questions but I wouldn't be surprised if they just gave up, looking at some of the posts I've seen on these type of threads
