The stadium renaming for 10 is a test to see how much people actually use this type of feature. I personally think that customization is super-huge, especially for Manager Mode as a single player mode.

How exactly can you determine how much that feature is used if it's being used in an offline game mode? And if it turns out that not too many people actually use it (which was somehow the case with kit number editing even though that makes absolutely no sense and I've yet to get an actual response to how they determined how often that feature was used in 0, what are you going to do with it?

Rutter said that kit number editing wasn't used very often in FIFA 08 and was also incredibly expensive to implement. I thought that once it's in the code it's in the code right? How can a feature like renaming a stadium or changing a kit number be expensive? Could you maybe shed some light on that?

...these three are the most expansive things to consider when creating any new screen, no matter how simple it looks to the end-user ;-). On top of that come the opportunity costs, which means the time we spend on a lower priority feature that we could have spent on a high priority feature. This is why Dave mentioned that implementing these features was expansive...

Now that we know how important the Kit editing screen was (based on the amount of complaints we've received for not having it), we've made a new one for FIFA 10 :-).

There will only be slightly more media interaction as you will receive more incoming messages and be able to react to them on the spot. Due to us working a lot on the fundamentals of the mode, we were not able to get as deep as being able to spread rumors about players you are interested in and provoking a reaction by doing so. That being said you can shortlist players in FIFA 10 and you will be notified if other clubs were interested in the same player, so you can modify your offer to seal the deal.

In addition we're still working on the Manager Mode for FIFA 10 and some features are not done. So in the end they might work out and will be included in the game, or they don't and we have to pull them. While I am really excited being able to discuss all the features with you, I have to be careful about not spilling too much information as well ;-).

I understanding where your coming from Marcel. The only gripe I have pertains to the Stadiums/Leagues announcement. If their's not any new leagues/stadiums for the PS3 or 360, then why are ya'll so mysterious and whatnot about releasing it? Last year ya'll waited a long time to announce these things, and their was nothing new. Just wondering.

Here's your moment Mr. Costa :-)...

1) Nice idea but as far as I know, we're not allowed to change the sponsors on the shirts of the clubs. We have agreements with the clubs that have licensed shirts and the connected sponsors to us and they don't like their assets being altered ;-).
2) We're looking at create a stadium for a while now as there are lots of requests for this. But the related effort is simply too big to tackle this feature yet.
3) Yes, due to the pre-season friendlies you will have an extended period of time in which you can negotiate new transfers.
4) Yes, based on your performance the board will decide the amount of Transfer and Wage budget you have at your disposal.

You may have missed my questions on the previous page Marcel, if you could please answer any you can.

1.) Will the Night feature be available for all Stadiums?
2.) When you create Custom team tactics will it stay on those tactics when you start your next match. On Fifa 09, when you start the next match it reverts back to the Default tactics which is annoying.
3.) Will there be FA Cup Replays when you draw a match instead of it going to extra time/penalties?
4.) Will CPU free kicks be better? In Fifa 09, ive only conceded 1 free kick in around 1100 matches against the CPU which isn't exactly the 'total football experience'.

Good points to raise, replays would add to the drama of a cup run.

Mr. Kuhn, as painful as it is for you to be working on fifa, and answering all our questions, I just hava quick few questions I would LOVE to have answer's for, quick one's so please, don't be mad at me :P .
1. When in transfer periods , does the time pass weekly, because I hate to not be able to make an entry on the proposals for 1 entire week, losing time that is truly available on the "real world" .
2. When out of transfer time, can we still look for player's, to plan our squad ahead of time? Kinda dumb we can't do it.
3.Are the administration expectations a little more strict this year? Because I find the administration to be a bunch of soft people :P . You could had winning streaks, goals to specific players, using of specific players, all those thing's that would make the game all that more challanging .

Hey Marcel, I'd like to thank you for all your hard work - this mode is so important to me as I rarely bother going online (being an old fart) and would also like to ask a couple of questions -:
Firstly, regarding the board transfer budget and wage budget... I was wondering whether budgets will alter according to the league you're in as well as targets reached. And whether playing in Europe will alter your budget, regardless of the boards targets? eg, if the board's main target is to avoid relegation and you qualify for the EC, will your budget be altered accordingly, even though it wasn't a request from the board at the beginning of the season?
I'm sure they do but I just wanted to check that your transfer funds weren't solely related to targets set by the board without other external factors coming into play.
Also, are these targets realistic, avoiding silly requests such as winning the Prem in your first promoted season?
Secondly, is there realistic prize money for winning competitions such as the CL.
Oh, and lastly, but not as important - will stadiums visually upgrade when you upgrade the stadium manager?

AI Substitution intelligence (or lack thereof).
1. Is something being done about the shockingly awful use of substitutions by the AI? One example being I played Wigan recently, they subbed Scharner who was playing at CB and replaced him with Rodallega (he's a forward for anyone who doesn't know), bringing on a forward to play at CB is a bit dumb

You mention injuries, it's not just long term injuries that needed fixing, every single injury ever in MM is 7 days, doesn't matter if a player has the injury prone trait or whatever, there should be short, long and intermediate injuries, and if a player comes back from a long/medium injury they should be at risk of picking up further injuries until fully fit.


The loan Market
3. You've mentioned a couple of times that nothing has been done about loans yet and at present they're the same unrealistic 2x12 months with, is there a possibility this can actually be worked on? After all the byword of Fifa10 is supposedly the realistic experience right? And on the flipside of loans, when we loan a player out will they 1. receive offers from appropriate teams (ie if the player is rated say 48 it should be league2 teams wanting to take him not other Championship teams for example) and will he actually gain experience? In the past I've loaned players out who played 20 matches on loan and they return with 0XP and their stats haven't changed at all.

Mr. Marcel,

If you would I have a couple questions...

1. Whilst playing MM, I notice that no matter what team I am playing against, what the score line is, or what league/ cup game I am in, the CPU seems to only attack a certain way. They will get it out to the wing, cross it in and attempt to score. Rarely do I actually see the CPU attempt a shot on goal from distance or show any authentic build up attempts to shoot. They simply make a pass or two in midfield, pass out to the wing, and cross it in for a header. Will this flaw in the AI be addressed? Will the CPU build up attacks, randomly and realistically so it doesnt feel as if all they know how to do is cross in for a header?

2. Will the CPU actually attempt skill moves this year? Step overs, roulettes, etc?

3. This is not a question, but more of a request to add the ability to turn off the little marker that shows you where the ball is going to land. This was added in 08 I believe and I have never liked it. Its sooooo PES.. Can you please look into having this as an option, you can put it right under the option to turn on/off the radar, which I also despise and turn off.

4. (possibly previously answered, but Ive never seen it) Will weather work this year? No matter what view or anything else you choose?

5. Will the extra time clock be handled any differently this year? I would like to actually be able to see how much extra time I have. Or will it still be a mystery?

6. During your MM, it was quite odd that you had really old players on teams you played against. Will teams bring up youth players and transfer in new talent and refresh their squads?

7. Will you please let the team know that you guys are going above and beyond anything I would ever expect from a Developer... This year has been awesome having all of the interaction from you all and I really do appreciate it. From the boards to Twitter I always seem to read something new or have some other information to hold me over to the next day/ or week. Cheers and Thank you...
