Very cool.
I think we all would be very interested to know why you got fired from Stuttgart, long-term bad form with the team or...?

thanks for today, it was a pleasure.

hey marcel will there be exceptions to aging players. Like would we have players such as Pablo Maldini who can play at the top level even when they're 38yo

Have some questions after reading the blog and previous posts.

Is there any advantage to having older players on your team, or should you just dump them as soon as their attributes start decreasing?

Are there salary caps if you are playing a league that has salary caps?

Is there any thought of giving names/personalities to match officials? (More/less likely to give out cards/call fouls?)

What is your preferred half-length when playing matches in MM?

there is NO league that has salary caps. salary caps stop in USA,NHL,NFL etc. but in football, salary caps would make the game stale. thank God we dont have them in football.

so, NO, sorry to disappoint but there are no salary caps in FIFA games or in football. and i hope they never make it into the beautiful game.

Thanks for the quick and helpful response. Really looking forward to this years installment and all the transparency only makes me more faithful in the game.

Err MLS has a pretty strict salary cap with the only exception being the designated player rule.

Her Marcel. Just wondering if you could give me the Starting 11 for the Newcastle JEts (A-LEague) just wanted to see if they are the new and improved 11. Also just wanted to know, what exactly does David Rutter mean by frantic celebrations.. give examples if you can.. Thanks man, your a champ!

Hi Marcel, can you tell me if Berbatov is still that damn overrated as he is in fifa 09 ... because in my point of view Berbatov (86) is no way better as Robbie Keane (83), Jermaine Defoe (81), Dirk Kuyt (82, you should push him a bit as well), Drogba(85), Anelka(83), v.Persie(85), Adebayor(85) for example...the list goes on and on...and he is not even close to Wayne Rooney's overall skill of 87 or Ribery or Torres and co., sure Berbatov is good, but not THAT good just because he plays for Man Utd ... I personally would give him 82 overall or 83 maximum

Marcel, David Hoilett at Blackburn Rovers. Trust me, he is a young (19 yr old) player that everyone is getting excited about in the North West of England. He is a Canadian Right Midfielder/Striker.
Would be brilliant if you gave this young player a bit of added info and commentary as he will be a huge player in the future. He is very fast and took the German leagues by storm whilst on loan earning his Work Permit.

Would be curious to know how he is doing in your manager mode up to this point.

Steven N'Zonzi is also worth a mention after his unexpected rise into the first team with Rovers. Another player we weren't expecting to much from but was pleasantly suprised.

I know it should be uncommon, but it would be cool to see some random teams sign the right young players, put a solid few years together, grow their budget and sequentially grow their talent and prestige.
you never answered this part of his question ? AS i am also very interested in the answer !
also will all transfer deals be done for all the clubs ? for e.g - league 1 & 2 tranfers ?

it better be better because, the last one was SH** boring and other clubs should buy players and take players off you like realistic clubs, because say if you are chelsea, and you want to sell j.cole for £12 mill and hull come in for him, why is it when we go hull we dont have money like that atol, all you get is like 2 million and every premier league club has a alot of money they are not poor.

i think also that to make it more realistic when you take a shot and it is about to roll over the line slowly, and it goes over but there clear the ball just as it goes over but the goal doesnt get given now that would be good lol

One thing that really killed the mood for me was the substitutions in FIFA09.

When a player was substituted, we get this anoying camera showing the stadium (I really don't understand why), then the guy walks away clapping and waving. No difference if he's injured, being trashed by 14-0, etc... Actually, when you replace 2 players at the same time, you only see one comming out...

There are other small details, such as when a player gets injured, the medical team never comes in, or the guy doesn't really show any sign of injury. I've lost count to the number of games I've had players injured and didn't even noticed it until the end.

This might sound like not very important, but they all exist in PES for quite some time, and really adds to the momentum. I've been browsing through the forum, and I haven't seen any mentioning that this will be improved in 2010.

Can we hope for an improvement still this year?

I have actually switched over from the PS2 / PC team onto the 360 / PS3 team this year and I was also surprised that they (now "we" ) don't have the same stadia. Like you mention a big one for me was the HDC. But more and more I was digging into the reasons, 1+2 came up over and over.

Still we've added the Bernabeu and 2 generic stadia (small english stadium and small mediterranean stadium) this year, plus we had to make sure that more stadia support rain + snow as well as night in order to add more authenticity to Manager Mode weather...I personally think it was the right choice for this year. But we definitely have to revisit the stadium list for upcoming FIFA's.
If a stadium doesnt have night but has Dusk, will it be played in dusk then?? or will it automaticly be at day?

When I play Manager Mode, sometimes when I wanna buy David Silva...It gives me that 'Valencia has'nt got enough players on the squad'-Bee Es. This should be fixed, because I always have to put a 50 Overall player from a lalala Club on Valencia before I start my Career!

Thanks for answering my questions Marcel. I didn't mean to scare you about a preview code bug.

I bet my next question has been answered somewhere in the thread but is there a quick way of making substitutions, similar to the way you can now select a new FreeKick taker?

Default Man C or Real Madrid - financial crisis

Hi Marcel,

Thanks for all your great work on the forumn helping us all get a better understanding of the new Fifa series.

One question i have relates to something in your blog and a previous post on this board:

you previoulsy said that Ronaldo's wages at real madrid would be a little higher than his real life 300k and in your blog you mentioned that spsorship would not longer be the main source of income and the majority of this would come from the board.
With this in mind and with madrid new "galactico" era and the wages they are now paying....are you able to play a season with Real Madrid without going bankrupt and being fired etc...

i would assume this is more the case with Man City though as they have considereably less income than Madrid....

Thanks for you help...keep up the great work!
