Default Graphics Cards

Since there's going to be not much going on until the 15th and I was getting bored, I was wondering what kind of graphics card you guys have. I want to see how mine compares (and also to check if that 10% claim is remotely true) So post your cards (or specs if you have time) down below please

In my opinion, the 10% rule is only true for every functioning computer in the world, including the ones that are built solely for office and home use. The majority of people who would actually consider playing fifa on pc would have an adequate rig. They'll get significantly better with the i7 cores coming out and the next generation graphics cards being released later this year (or early next year in Nvidia's gt300's case) Of course, that's just my wild guess, so please don't kill me

Mate I have a laptop with an ATI Radeon 2400 HD, it's suppose to be one of the worst card available, yet I can run games like Assassin's Creed , Far Cry 2 and World In Conflict. So i'm damn sure that I would be able to run a NG FIFA, i guess the problem is that EA programmers don't know how to optimise modern engines, so EA came up with this excuse to cover it up.

But whatever, that doesnt mean that FIFA has to be NG to be a good game so i'm still waiting to see how it'll shape up to be.

We all know that the 10% thing is just a lame excuse. Or, like someone else mention in a thread, it's 10% of their targeted audience perhaps. It sure looks like they don't target gamers, but more like very casual gamers with Pentium 3 processors.

Peter "I love consoles/hate PC" Moore gives me the impression that he thinks the PC platform is only a way to spread Fifa around the world and have as many people playing it - whether they buy the game or not. He just doesn't want the PC game to be on par with the console version for some reason.

I've said this probably 5 times now, if you can afford $50 to buy the game, you have/can afford a decent computer. Decent in this case is a PC at least on par with consoles hardware-wise. So the argument about 10% bla bla is based on nothing.

My card is an XFX Nvidia 9800 GT...

Edit: At least in Fifa 10 we'll have a game that's freaking optimized and gets decent frame rates. I'm afraid we can't expect more regarding graphics this year. Hopefully, there will be a new engine in Fifa 11.

i only buy only the best of the best! (SF4,RE5,Crysis's,Orange Box,Gears)
i think il buy FIFA10 when it comes out, if its much better than 09 PC.

I recently just couple of weeks ago upgraded to the Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 4890 OverClocked Edition 1 GB DDR 5. This card is almost level on par with the GTX 285, but when overclocked it surpasses it. With some games like Crysis Warhead and Fallout 3 it destroys the benchmarks!

Anyway this GPU rocks and is smooth with absolutely every game, I pass the recommended for every single game including original Crysis to recommended.

Runs FIFA 09 absolutely smoothly without lag, which I was a bit surprised because my old Nvidia GeForce 8600GT lagged severely bad. Currently I am playing FIFA 09 very smoothly all high on 1440x900 resolution, unfortunetly I don't have a HD monitor or any other monitor that supports higher resolutions other then 1440x900 but soon I'll buy one!

Don't misguide people.
Playing on 1680 x 1050 support monitor doesn't mean anything. The 8600GT can't go above 1024 x 768 resolution without lagging.
I wonder how badly it will lag if you set it to 1680 x 1050 resolution, probably the computer will freeze lol.

I have a good card but not well known, the Intel Q45 with 512MB DDR2 Shaders 4 and support for DX10, I can run FIFA09 at 1440x900 full details and AA x4 at 60+ FPS.

is that good enough?..

Um, I have an Asus 7600GS, which played fifa 09 on high (no stuttering) at 1280*1024.

It now runs fifa at 1024*768, as I have a widescreen monitor .

My 7600GS is starting to feel the strain though, and hopefully I'll be able to afford a new card before Christmas .
