My 7600GS is starting to feel the strain though, and hopefully I'll be able to afford a new card before Christmas .
My card will probably set you back less than £100 now.

Hmmm, food for thought .

I'll have to do some saving first though .

I'll give you one very good suggestion for saving money.
Buy 8 pence spaghetti. Eat everyday 1 packet.
In 1 week time 8x7=56 Pence

You'll be saving loads of money and by the end of the month you'll probably have 100-200+ pounds saving to buy a new graphics card.
Not only that, you'll also lose substantial amount of weight (KG)!

Thanks, but I thinks it's more a simple case of not wasting money on rubbishy items.

I have an ATI HD3650.

I bought it half a year ago. It is an older generation mid range card, but it was either this or a new generation beginner card. I went with the one that would give me a better performance. I'm never going to update to Vista anyway, so it didn't really make sense to go with the other one.

I play FIFA on 1440x900 on high settings, and get absolutely no lag. However, I've set my graphic card settings to performance to make online gaming more fluid.

I'm hoping I'll be able to play FIFA 10 on this graphic card, but if the requirements increase I'm doubting I'll be able to on high settings. They talked a lot about optimization though so I'm hopeful.

WOW, your PC specs are almost the same as mine. I have Quad-Core Q6600 2.40 GHz and Vista Home Premium, Realtek HD Audio, but 3 GB RAM.

I too get that ATI Radeon HD 4800 Series. Mine is a 4890 OC card though.

Yeah and it certainly runs Crysis brilliantly that's true!

The 4890 is quite a bit better than mine though...

I'm jealous.

I should upgrade.

No need lol
I was suffering for 10 months before that with my old 8600GT card.
Its probably the first time in 10 years of suffering that I have had a better
PC that runs all the games smoothly.

In the past I had crappy specs. Like 64 MB of RAM lol it wasn't long ago you know. Where as in the market there already used to be 256 MB of RAM PCs.

But I am glad that finally I have a newer GPU. Infact I only upgraded to a new GPU 2-3 weeks ago. I am very pleased with what I have done. Crysis Warhead is like a Paradise at the moment!

Nearly a Year ago I put together my rig after throwing away my old Pentium 4 fuelled piece of lalalala. It was bought in 2003 yet had absolutely NO AGP slot.. so I had to make do with a Radeon 9250 PCI for 5 whole years. I was so happy that I could finally buy any PC game I wanted and be confident that my PC would run it. So I know how it feels. I'm thinking of getting Warhead, too.. Partly because I thought the first Crysis was a great game (up until the alien bit, anyway), and partly because I'm curious to see how much better it runs, since they're supposed to have fixed the performance issues for Warhead, right?

Yeah nowadays there's nothing to worry about cos we've got PCI Xpress X16 slots, so any modern card will run without worries, unlike the old AGP slot.
Yeah it feels a wealth of a difference having a new GPU. I am also starting to win online games more easily lol. Due to lagless games I easily shoot others at Crysis Wars and Call of Duty 4, it just feels special special every shot.

You don't have to worry about Warhead, it runs perfectly 100% smooth without a single slice of lag! I can assure you it will not cause you any trouble like the original Crysis. Everything maxing out on Enthusiastic setting and highest resolutions without lag.
I've not met an alien so far on Warhead, maybe I didn't play it for substanially long. However there are sharks under the sea that can be very scary, beware of that!

And also the online game (Crysis Wars that comes with it) you can play with loads of people, more beautiful maps and downloadable ones. Graphics are absolutely fantastic, well they're equivalent to original Crysis but runs very smoothly. Every explosion looks dramatic. Love driving those army vehicles especially online you can drive speed boats, cars, tanks, helicopters and planes!

This is soo depressing..

There is no way in hell I would ever, unless I was a millioner, give a penny more than 70 dollars for a god damn graphics card. You guys really got to find some better things to spend your money on.

However, this does put some daylight on why most people here find the 10% explanation EA has given us a lala excuse.

I have to agree with your last statement, although I would spend more than $70(us) on a graphics card. About $150(us)(between 90 and 100 pounds) would be my maximum budget .

Well, most of us are hardcore gamers so we want powerful machines. You can't blame people for buying good hardware. I certainly wouldn't call it waste of money. And some people like me don't just play games. I also do a lot of work with 3D modeling software such as Soldiworks and I need a powerful GPU to render complex items.

I have an ATI Radeon HD4870 (Runs anygame on max) i also have a 650W PSU, Quad Core... etc

10% is laughable since everyone i know who play online FPS (500+) about 450 of them have enough to run Crysis on high.

Yeah that's true.
I play Crysis Wars online and I see tons of players playing it only. Its not like I only see 2 or 3 people online! I see about a thousand people online, especially over the weekends more people play online.

And certainly 10% is an excuse. An excuse simply for not improving the game, its a bit of a laziness though. But lets see how FIFA 10 will turnout.

9600GT Overcloked for me.It runs Crysis on Very High Settings in DX9 with Natural Mod patch (like a DX10 patch for XP) on 1280&1024 res without any AA with arround 25FPS, enough to be playable.
I don't think I can't handle NG version of FIFA on my PC, seriously ..

I won't go above £120 for a GPU. The real nutters are the guys who jump on the newest high end cards when they come out at around £350 - £400.

Well I read something a few months ago regarding harcore gamers. It was somebody from EA I don't remember exactly probably Riccitello.Well he said that they don't rely on what hardcore gamers are saying about game in general.Because they have exaggerated expectations from an game and when they play it they are dissapointed. They are aiming more on casual gamers than hardcore ones.I remember that he gave Spore as an example.
