Default || Two Brothers || Two Careers || One Goal ||

Bosnia and Herzegovina have not had much luck over time. They have never qualified for a major tournament. They have come close twice, World Cup qualifying play-offs in 2010 and Euro 2004. But they were denied, by Portugal and Denmark respectively. The little nation will have to see if they can turn it around for the next Euro, or next World Cup.

And inside that little nation, with no luck; no success, live two young men, both twenty-three. They are brothers, and have been together forever, lived through all of the tough times with bad family situations, and helped the other when one fell. But now is their time for careers; proper jobs. Being a store clerk isn't what they want. They are about to venture into football, a career in which when one sets foot in, they never want to turn back.

Neither ever had their talent as players recognized. It is unfortunate for Bosnia and Herzegovina that they weren't spotted, as they were stars. Perhaps, and only perhaps, if they were there Bosnia would be preparing for South Africa right now.

But, alas, they weren't, and that is the irrelevant past of the little nation with big spirit that is Bosnia and Herzegovina. Because what the future holds for the nation and the two brothers is far more important, more glorified. As the Vrdezivic brothers, Egzon and Dzevat, step into their management, they must now leave their old ways, and separate.

It will be hard for Egzon and Dzevat Vrdezivic, as they have been together through it all, but maturity and their independence must now take the fore. The only things to motivate them are the will to do better than the other, and the drive to make Bosnia and Herzegovina, that little nation with big spirit, a well-known name in the history books.

Success! - Egzon Vrdezivic - 01.02.09
A Start - Dzevat Vrdezivic - 01.04.09

My New Club - Dzevat Vrdezivic - 01.02.09

When I first left home, having us deciding on what we wanted, I was lost. I didn't know what to do with Egzon. We had never been separated since our birth, and being a twin, it just doesn't feel right being alone. So there I was, sitting around with nothing to do. But I manned up eventually. I didn't just leave the area, I left the country.

It was Sweden where I went, to an area called Umea. A nice city with a population of over 75,000. I didn't know why I went there, something just told me that my future was abroad for the time being. I didn't want to leave the country, but I felt it was my duty to. And, just my luck, there was an unmanaged football team in the city.

Umea FC. Needed a manager, in fact they were so desperate they were posting notices around the city. But nobody wanted to manage them. I went for it, and they accepted me there and then. It was good to get into the job, but so quickly... I was happy, anyway.

I found out that Umea FC had been in the league for too long. I met with the players, and the lads seemed nice enough. Luckily, I had come at the right time, in February - the season started in March.

Training. The players weren't fantastic. I would need to make drastic improvements, Bosnian-style.

Success! - Egzon Vrdezivic - 01.02.09

I had just been about to email Dzevat, when he emailed me first. I was surprised; Dzevat was never one for technology. Turned out that he had been appointed manager of some club in Sweden called Falu FK. I was glad that he had a club, but my news was even better. Because, I was now manager of US Sassuolo, who play in Serie B.

I say now, but it was nothing more than agreed. The current manager, Andrea Mandorlini, was stepping down to 'pursue other things' at the end of the season, meaning I could take over at the end of June this year.

It was fantastic news. I had only managed to get in because one of their back room staff was a person who had taught me at school back in Bosnia, and had recommended me because of my 'leadership abilities' I was chuffed to bits, and even went as far as praying for my old teacher.

So I looked at the situation at Sassuolo. Pretty good, last season they finished seventh in Serie B. But I wanted them in Serie A, and hopefully use that as a stepping stone for greater things. It just felt like I was meant to be at the Italian club, and meant to take them to better things. Was I getting too far ahead of myself? I wasn't sure.

It's made up until the teams they manager are in FIFA. Sassuolo is so those matches will be real.

You won't be hearing much from Egzon until July when he gets his job, so I'll try and make sure Dzevat gets through games quickly.
