"This is our Year"

Today Liverpool Skipper, Steven Gerrard has come out in fighting words warning other teams to watch out for Liverpool. He said "Last season people think we played our best but I disagree. This year we will do even better, we will go one step further and end the drought of 19 years and bring the title home. i will, personal see it a failure if we don't. Plus to end all the transfer gossip, I'm staying at Liverpool. I love the club and I won't leave this city.

Liverpool will announce there pre season friendlies later today.

Liverpool Agree Super Deal
Standard Chartered Bank is to become the main sponsor of Liverpool football club after signing a four-year deal.
The agreement, which begins in July, runs to the end of the 2013-14 season and will end Liverpool’s 17-year association with brewer Carlsberg.
The bank has operations around the world, while Liverpool is one of the most famous UK clubs globally.

It comes after US financial giant Aon signed a sponsorship deal with champions Manchester United.
The partnership brought together “two highly successful organisations”, said Liverpool managing director Christian Purslow.
The club said the deal aimed to step up Liverpool’s profile in the lucrative Asian markets, as well as in Africa and the Middle East.
“Many branches in these countries will effectively be a shop window for Liverpool football club and a means of attracting more supporters to the cause,” Mr Purslow said.
It is Liverpool’s largest ever commercial agreement – with media reports suggesting it was worth £80m over four years.

Over 40,000 Liverpool supports flocked to see the first of 4 friendly games. Diego Maradona made an appearance at the ground. he will be looking out for Insuia and Masherona.Rafa Benitez played an strong side against the newly promoted side. this was looking out to be a good game.

liverpool started the game and just kept possession for the first 20 minutes, but they failed to have a shot a goal. Then Wolves kept on the pressure and ebanks blake had a 1 on 1 on goal but scoffed his chance.

But Wolves would miss that chance when Yossi pass, which was poor, but the defender slipped and missed the ball, who Torres had already pounced. He was straight on goal and smashed home a top right corner goal. What a great striker goal. The 1st half ended with nothing else special.

The 2nd half started with better hopes of more chances. Wolves had a fair chance, Kightly, who volleyed just over the bar. Lucas had a screamer form 30 yards which kissed the post.

Just after wards Torres did a loverly chipped through pass which found Ngog running towards goal, Ngog on the half volley smashed it towards the Wolves keeper.

On the 66 Minute mark, there were changes for both teams, Torres came of for El Zhar, and new boy Aqualani came on for Lucas. Ngog had the last chance who Chipped the stranded Keeper and was off Celebrating but the ball skimmed the post.

Liverpool got to a winning start, the Man of the match was Lucas.

I've liked it so far, but I'm not a very good writer so I might not be the best to get tips from.
