He started his football career at Manchester City in 2002. Where he was impressive in his first season, he then carried on to play for the club. He recieved his first award winning Young Player of the year for City, named by the fans. Barton was named aggresive on and off the pitch and got into his first fight against Doncaster starting a '10 man brawl' in the 2003 - 04 season. This was just the start of his agressiveness ast he attacked a 15 year old Everton fan where he was provoked the following season. He went through anger management ordered by the manager. His ager seemed to improve through out the season but when City faced Everton he showed his 'back side' towards the Everton fans after he scored an equalizer. Barton was banned from City manager from speaking to the media after he said that his England team mates were sub-standard when he made his debut. City banned Barton and fined him 100,000 pounds after he assaulted team-mate Dabo. Dabo had to go to hospital and pressed charges towards Barton where he pleaded not-guilty, he changed his plea to not guilty and had a 4 month prison sentance plus community service. This then ended his career at Manchester City and he had a relationship breakdown with Stuart Pearce. Where he moved onto Newcastle United. He joined Newcastle on a fee of 5.8 million pounds and was instantly injured ruling him out for a month. In early December he attacked Newcastle fans due to them abusing Sam Allardyce and the players. He was sentanced to 6 months in May 2008 along with his cousin Nadine Wilson and his brother Andrew Barton after he pleaded guilty. He returned to the playing field in the Arsenal 3 - 0 loss where he played for 75 minutes. When Shearer became manager they weren't exactly friends. When Barton was sent off late against Liverpool and shearer released a statement saying he wasn't happy with Barton. In the dressing room later Barton stated he was the best player in the world and Shearer replied 'You're not, you're ****.' Barton replied 'You're a **** manager with **** tactics, Where shearer then tried to terminate Bartons contract. Where he moved onto Crystal Palace. ![]() Alan Smith started his career in Leeds in 1998. Against Liverpool where he scored in the match too going on to be a first choice player. He reached the semi finals of the 2000-01 Champions League with Leeds, he was part of an offensive line incuding Michael Bridges and Mark Viduka. Smith carried on helping Leeds, including the Champions League in 2001-02 where he was sent off in the semi final. 2001 was also the year he got into the National side, but did not make it into the World Cup for 2002. He won the 2002 and 2003 Player of the year for Leeds, a first back to back in the clubs history. When Leeds were relegated in 04, Smith kissed his badge and cryed on his last game, and moved to bitter rivals United, which sparked constroversy by fans because he moved to united. Making him hero to vilain in a matter of days despite the fact that Leeds publicy released a statement that they couldn't afford his wages. Smith joined the club for 7 million pounds. His debut was the community sheild against Arsenal where they lost 3-1 but Smith got the goal for United in the 55th minute. He was injured for his first season making him miss important matches and after his injury, with Rooney on form and Van Nistelrooy back from his injury, Smith was relegated to the bench. Smith seemed to love his club, missing out the chance to play for the National team in 2005 to practice his midfield role in the reserves. In 2005-06 Smith broke his leg to try and stop a free kick from John Arne riise. Which was the worst Sir alex Ferusen had seen in his life. The injury ruled him out for 12 months and he returned to play in 2007. Including Champions League matches, and the one where Manchester United thrashed A.S. Roma 7-1, Smith didn't score. Despite falling 1 game short to recieve the Premiership medal, he was allowed to have it on the last game. He joined Newcastle in August 2007 of a fee of around 6 million pound, he scored the winning goal on his debut against Sampdoria, he struggled to establish himself though, failing to score a league goal in his first season, Newcastle was relegated and it was for the second timein Smiths career. He did not play in the last game, although he was announced captain for the 2009-10 season, but Palace came and bought him for 8 million where Alan Smith is captain at Palace. Lost to City 2-1
Palace so unlucky! First Half went horrible for Crystal Palace, went 1 - 0 down due to a corner, Palace made some brilliant runs but it wasn't enough! Calvin Andrew made it equal just after the start of the first half, the Palace fans went crazy! But at the last second Maynard scored to make Bristol City win |

Blackpool gutted
On form Palace carries on streak! Well after only losing one game so far they carry on their streak! Blackpool were the unfortunate ones today as they lose 1-0 to Crystal Palace. A Scannell winner in the 66th minute makes another win and keeps Palace at the top of the table! 1st Palace 12pts 2nd Bristol C 10pts 3rd West Brom 10pts 4th Derby 10pts 5th Peterb'gh 10pts |

Two transfers for Palace!
Joey Barton and Steven foster! Joey Barton from Newcastle to Crystal Palace has been a shock transfer! Costing them 15 million and a player. It put a real hole in their pocket! Kjidadi went to Newcastle who is worth 800k Steven Foster on the other hand was 3 million and it cost Matt Lawerence who has really been playing poorly. Foster has made a big impact to the club and Barton is yet to play. |

Palace win 2-0 against Leicester!
Brilliant Game! Ambrose scored early in the first half due to a gap in the defense a pass from Barton lead him to score. The defense had seemed to have let Leicester down as Carle went to score from a gap AGAIN at the 37th minute! It was a bore draw for the second half but som nice team play was created. |
