Since Van Basten is your manager, how about Van der Vaart? Although he's left-footed. Beckham, or Affelay?

![]() Leonardo Turns Down Manager Role ![]() Above: Leonardo says thanks but no thanks. AC Milan techinal director Leonardo has today turned down a chance to become head manager of the Rossoneri this season. Former manager Carlo Ancelotti left the San Siro for Chelsea in the summer after 8 years in the hot seat and it appeared Leonardo was touted as a quick fix solution, however it appears negotiations with Club Owner Silvio Berlusconi and President Adriano Galliani have broken down today. The reason is still unclear as to why Leonardo turned down a 2 year deal, as he has already negoatiated and signed Milan signings so far this summer. It is reported many Milan fans are pleased that the deal did not take place due to his inexperience at the top level, nevertheless managing at all. Milan has been a sinking ship over the last two years, silverwear has been hard to come by and the roster continues to age with no apparent replacements being bought in a hurry. Milan officials have refused to comment on the situation, although is it apparent that a short list of managers has been draw up. It is rumoured that Arsene Wenger, Luis Aragones and Marco van Basten are the top 3 priority's for the club. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is known for his ability to work with youngsters and play attractive football. The Frenchman has been very successful in his management career securing the Barclays Premier League title on 3 different occassions as well as finishing a runner up in the Champions League in 2005. Luis Aragones is well know for his discipline and ability to manage teams to play an exciting brand of football. The Fernebahce manager has also been successful in his career winning Euro 2008 with the Spanish National side last year. The last candidate is the unattached and Milan legend Marco van Basten who had stints with Dutch side Ajax and the Holland national side. Van Basten has also been quite successful in his managing career with 65.48% winning average. The big decision will hopefully be made within the next few days, with whispers reporting that Galliani and Berlusconi have flown out of Italy to hold talks with all the potential targets face to face. Will they find Milan's saviour or is the era of the Rossoneri too far faded to save? Have your say below. |
