![]() Ashley Young Ashley, arguably Villa's best player, joined the Birmingham based club back in 2006 from Championship-side Watford for a whopping £8 million. Alot of questions were asked for such a high price tag for such a young player, but he has definitely proven that he was worth it, probably even worth more than twice as much. He's bagged 20 goals for Villa since joining back in 2006. 10 of them coming from a very successful, last season, some include some great free-kicks and a great last minute winner against Liverpool side Everton back in December. Ashleys great 08/09 performance was rewarded with the PFA Young Player of the Year award. Alot is expected of the young Englishman this year, hopefully he can live up to his high expectations. Gabriel Agbonlahor Gabby is Villa's main man leading the attack, with great vision, control and pace. Villa's number 11 came through the ranks at their Youth Academy, finally getting his senior debut in which he scored in 2005 against Everton at Goodison Park. Although being at Aston Villa since his Youth days Gabby had 2 loan spells out of the club, one to Watford and the other to Sheffield Wednesday. Everyone is expecting a good all round performance this season for Gabby and hopefully he does but most of all hoping he scores goals. He needs to have a good season to have any hope of being picked in Fabio Capello's England side for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. James Milner England's U21's most capped player was a great play maker last year along side his teammate on the other flank, Ashley Young. He started his senior career at Leeds United where he became the 2nd youngest player to ever play in the Premier League, coming on as a substitute against West Ham in 2002, being only 16 years old and 309 days. After Leeds he went to Newcastle for 4 years, in that four years he had a loan spell at Aston Villa before eventually joining in the Summer of 2008. He netted 6 goals last season and is sure to score alot more. When on top-form his killer crosses and great passing can be hard to stop from the opposing team.
