The team plays its home matches in the RheinEnergie Stadion, with a capacity of little over 50,000. The name comes from a contract with the local power supplier RheinEnergy AG that will last till 2009. However, most fans still call the stadium "Müngersdorfer Stadion", according to the former stadium and the suburb Müngersdorf, where it is located. Besides from just football 1. Bundesliga to get promoted back to the Bundesliga for the fourth time in nine years. One of the clubs finer moments in the last 25 years was finishing runners-up in the 1986 UEFA Cup losing 5-3 (5-1, 0-2) on aggregate against Real Madrid. Also, the club's U-17's won the U-19 Bundesliga West in 2008.
