@Hume/Neil?: Yeah Alexander's solid but he's a tad old, he won't feature that much I think.

I've played two of the friendlies and sold some players, but I'll just to a singular update for the whole pre-season. First update will probably be a manager interview though.

Just use him as a player-coach like he is at Burnley, or sell him and say he's gone back to Preston to coach/manage :P

Hey guys sorry about the inactivity, but I've worked 26 hours in the last three days, in addition to the ridiculous cleaning tasks I've been doing at home (stupid relatives and their visits), but I will have an update up tonight!

STRAIGHT BACK UP!

Burnley FC manager Brian Laws has quickly drawn the spotlight onto his first full campaign at the helm by stating his intent to take the Lancashire back up to the Premier League at the first attempt.

Burnley played in England’s top division for the first time in 33 years last season after winning the Championship play-offs, but the Englishman is adamant that a return to top-flight football will not take as long, or be as difficult, as stated in the club’s weekly press conference earlier today.

“Although I wasn’t involved with the club during the play-offs, I can empathise with fans about how nerve-wracking it must have been to achieve promotion that way. This time around, I want promotion sealed as quickly as possible. This of course means winning the league.”

This declaration of intent was immediately met with somewhat perplexed questioning. How can the same side that self-destructed in the back end of last season be a title force? Where will the goals come from after the departure of Steven Fletcher? Does Laws really think that he can do better than Owen Coyle? Laws was surprisingly coy in his response, after which he left the room.

“I’m not in the position to answer those questions at present, but you’ll find out soon enough.”
