Default EA - Progress Update 16/10/09

Hi Everyone,

I know we have been a little quiet lately so I wanted to take the time to give you a quick update on things. As many of you are aware based on other threads there is a downloadable update on the way for both PS3 and 360. At the moment it is with Sony and Microsoft, where they're conducting their own rounds of testing to make sure there will be no impact on the user experience.

Due to this the timing of the update's release is somewhat out of our hands right now, but we'll let you know more as soon as we can.

As mentioned in some of my recent posts, I do have the list of what is included in the update but as of yet have not been given the green light to release it. Now that the update is with Microsoft and Sony for testing I am hoping to receive this and fingers crossed I will be able to make that information public sometime on Monday afternoon.

Stay tuned for more information.

Thanks

I was hoping to be able to make it public today but didn't receive the green light last night based on the time differences.

Well you thought 24h instead in 96+h? Sorry, but I hate updates about updates especially with the word hope in it.

Indeed, buy a massively bugged game, then apparently have to spend 2+ weeks begging and pleading on here and Twitter to find out what they'll actually fix in it, strange customer/community support.

Thanks for the brief update.

If the patch is with MS and Sony now, then there shouldn't be any further changes to it before it comes out. To me, it sounds like they don't wanna publish the patch fix list until the game is released in North America so people don't have time to cancel their pre-orders when they see that EA hasn't addressed a lot of the bugs.

Well, i'm patient and can wait 'til after monday or whenever. Hopefully EA prove me wrong.

Oh and also,

Is it possible that you can tell us the size of the download for this patch for the xbox 360 version? I'd like to know because it's fully possible that I won't be able to download it at all if it's a large file.

thanks.

Do you know if this the one and only patch, or are more to come that will address many of the issues that are seen as less urgent?

I understand that Microsoft or Sony could find out some problems (but i don't think so.....they tested Fifa10 and they allowed to sale this) ....and in this case you have to delete this problem from the patch.....so you can't tell us what the patch includes....
but, i guess, you can tell us what the patch doesn't include. goalkeepers? AI?

Well given that both Microsoft and Sony passed the last patch I think it's a safe bet that this one will sail though!

The reason they are hesitating telling us what fixes are included is because the minute they release that list all hell is going to break lose on these forums no matter what that list contains. Unfortunately I suspect the hellraising to be justified as I can't see EA realistically fixing all these bugs in the time span they gave themselves here. I still find new bugs every day, and if they could, they would have ironed out more of these bugs prior to release. That said, they could have done that too, which in case would tell us we are lucky to even have a game this year.

Excellent news. Thanks for the update and hope the patch resolves the majority of the issues that are seen as the highest priority.

I think this is so true. The patch comes so soon they've probably only been able to fix a couple of real bugs, and I'm pretty sure they've accidentally or on purpose ignored something major so the patch probably won't make the game playable still.. But fingers crossed. At least the info comes before PES so I can take my FIFA back for it if the patch is not satisfying me.

lalalala so basically you confirmed 2 things

- you cant say whats in the patch
- or a date for release

something that well ... EA have been posting on here last few days cheers for the advancement of news the advancement of NOTHING !!

also just like to bring up EG .. YOU yes YOU EA said on the Eg site it (the patch)would be out "this week" that articale was posted thursday so you basically had thursday and yesterday to release it.

kinda went back on the word there from what it seems,it wouldnt be so bad if it was a rumour but your directly addressed EG with the words "it will be out this week sometime" and well .. its not.

Hit the nail on the head here, excellent post. Ea protecting sales in the US by not identifying addressed issues. Nothing short of thieves.
