Exactly, the good in the commentary is very, very good, the bad unfortunately is very, very bad and there's a lot of the bad this time around

It's good commentary, really. All of them. If only they were put into place. A few lines on the transfer window really put you off.

Martin: Transfer market just opened... What're your views?
Andy: I'm just surprised they haven't bought any players, Martin.

Firstly, yes I have bought some players.
Secondly, when I haven't bought anyone, IT'S BECAUSE OF THE STUPID MM TRANSFER REGIME.

Exactly, good point that, another one I just had

(my freekick/corner taker goes down injured)

Martin: oh that's a key player they really can't afford to have injured
Andy: Nobody can afford to lose their top scorer

He's not my top scorer at all, but he is my set piece specialist.......

maybe martin & andy have become mystic megs and are predicting your kick taker will soon become your top scorer.....once the patch is out for MM that is....

also note if you play as liverpool, the stadium announcer says aquilani's name during the match start but yet tyler & gray don't mention him once when he gets the ball...why?
I'm sure this will happen for other players in other teams and I maybe getting picky but why not add for the main commentary too if you've gone to the extremity of letting the stadium announcer say the name?? answers on a postcard please?

I had a right back injured, and they went on about him being my top goal scorer.
I have yet to have a full back score on the game yet.

The largely advertised and "improved" Manager Mode and Virtual Pro commentaries don't work at all. It can for example say I'm on a 3 game winning streak when I've actually just drawn a game, won one and lost one; or in Virtual Pro, they will say that I'm scoring my 20th goal when it's actually the 21st already, and they will say it each time I score after that! Ridiculous bugs, they really did absolutely NO testing on this one, way to go QA team.

For me I win league games and they say that I'm still in the cup.

Quite funny.

Also David Beckham scored and he's 23. The stadium announcer (not commentator) said scored by #24.

posted it somewhere else but this belongs in here...
played against Liverpool and was 6-0 up......some Pool-midfielder managed to keep the ball after a short dribble and they say...
"he's having a fantastic game"....
ehm.....scoreline is 6-0.....NOONE from a team that's 0-6 behind (especially a midfielder) is having a fantastic (or outstanding) game....they should put the scoreline in account more.....

It keeps telling me that we're going to extra time after every Cup match I won...
And they tell me that it's my 3rd win on a row,... while drawing 1-1

There's some new line that Andy Gray comes up with about the ball almost hitting the bar on the way into the net. Can't remember exactly what it is he says but i've heard it a few time after scoring low shots.

I got that it went in "just under the bar", when the forward was sliding it in. The ball never left the ground. :S

Hey! Whats the problem? Its authentic, people make mistakes, when the commentators are all the way up the top of the stadium they can mistake players for being the wrong ones, they can get the stats wrong or jumble up their words a bit!

(without prejudice) commentators have team sheets, with numbers they're wearing in front of them, they also have small monitors showing televised pictures so they get close ups like we do on the telly, there is no explanation as to why they would say the shot was close to the bar when it was clearly a daisy cutter as to there are no explanations for them coming out with randoms about the top scorer when its a full back in charge of the ball and hasn't scored one goal all season. for your info too, the commentators don't commentate from the empire state building, your analargy of them sitting high up in the stadiums is way off the mark fella.

Some good ones here.
1. "Southampton have a fantastic NEW stadium built". St Marys was finished 2001.
2. "this free kick is withing shooting range". If shooting range is just outside my OWN box.
3. "Appeals for a corner" The shot went into row z cortesy of my ST, in space.
4. "he's having the worst run of form in his career". They say this all the time for no reason. Exhibition matches, anywhere, even at the good players
5. "Good work by the defender" as my ST sends a free header well wide
6. "oh he'lalalala the post" as the ball hit the crossbar, AFTER i scored. But no, the goal wasnt important. it hit the woodwork.
7. "its a booking for the Fiorentina forward" it was their LB
8. "itlalalala the post and gone out for a goal kick". It went out for a throw in.
9. "thats another great save from the keeper, it will be a corner". Once again, in was a throw in.

No excuse for EA. They used old and otherwise lalalala commentary, and this once again shows they never bothered testing, or they just dont care.

I get this one nearly every time a striker heads the ball wide, whether there is a defender near him or not. Does my head in.

I was in a div 2 playoff game in MM. Drew the first game and won the second 3 - 0. The commentary at the end of the second game says, "their all even on aggragate, this will have to be decided in extra time." Of course this wasn't the case and the game recognnized my win, but the commentary was off. I've heard quite a few others, but that one struck me as a biggie. Just more examples of poorly implemented code.
