So can we have some official news on whether trophy support is for the full game or just the expansion please!?

All the moderators etc. seem to be ignoring this question!

Seriously, this is getting irritating. Can we please get some answers about the trophy patch - whole game or expansion?
And people stop asking how much it is, we've established around £7.99.

What do you mean YES!?

That doesn't answer my question, full game or just expansion?

Will this be carried on (if successful) into Fifa 2010?

This should be the new club mode.

Your team gets to get a better stadium etc for winning and you can play as yourself as well as your teammates can play with themselves on the game.

To the people who say it's TCM for Fifa, it's not.

You collect cards and have to judge how often you play your players and hope you get a 'contract extension' (No negotiations with players) for your Star players.

Take C. Ronaldo for instance. He'll probably be a Gold Card with a contract length for 4 matches. You decide to take part in a 32 team Online Tournament, playing Ronaldo every game until you get to the final and he's suddenly gone from your team because you did not have/get the 'contract extension' card from the Card Packs.

Default Producer Feedback - Mat Prior

Hi everyone,

Very quick Introduction. I am Mat Prior the line producer for Ultimate Team. I have been at EA for 8 years during which time I have worked on numerous games including 7 football titles. I am from Manchester and I’m a lifelong Man City fan which has had its ups and downs over the years (mostly downs)

I hope to be able to answer some of the questions surrounding Ultimate Team.

First off there seems to be a lot of questions around PS3 trophy support for Fifa 09 so let me speak to that. Yes it will be available for Fifa 09 and you don’t need to buy Ultimate team in order to get it. Ultimate team has its own trophies but you’ll get full trophy support for Fifa 09 for free without having to buy ultimate team, it will be part of the title update that will unlock the ability to download ultimate team.

Secondly pricing. I can confirm that it will not be a subscription model but pricing is currently being finalized so I can’t disclose that right now. Expect an announcement towards the end of next week.

Ultimate team is a fantastic game and by far and away the deepest mode we have ever created in any of our football games. While it is being called a game mode because it needs Fifa 09 to function, it is a complete game unto itself and has had a complete independent production team devoted to it over these past 12 months. It will be available to try for free so I hope you’ll all check it out.

We’ll try and get a separate ultimate team thread going but in the meantime I did an interview for gamespot the other day that will answer a lot of other questions raised here.

Cheers
Mat

Hey Mat! You mentioned Ultimate Team having its own trophies. Will there be any achievements for it on Xbox 360?

Also, do you plan to carry this on into Fifa 2010?

Yes, Ultimate Team on the 360 will have its own set of achievements.

Regarding carrying it on into Fifa nothing has be finalized either way. We'll gauge community feedback before making any decisions.

Hi Mat

Thanks for the post! If you will be involved in the ongoing development of this new feature can I please ask for it to be turned into more of a full MM online mode. I am quite happy to pay for the privillage for (as I've already stated in this thread) what is an essentially new game, but would like something more realistic.

I have posted some suggestions on the following thread: Online Manager Mode

Please have a peek. I would be willing to pay more for something like this (as I am sure a lot of other people would be) I would really appreciate some feedback on these ideas.

are the trophies the same as the Xbox's achievements? and will other EA Sports games be receiving trophy patches such as NHL, NBA, Madden etc?

Mat, this is all brilliant news. Thanks for clearing it up.

Can I just ask though, are you really an EA Producer cos it says you are a Rookie? Just making sure you aren't some random guy who thought he could wind us all up!!

Personally, I am pretty excited about this. And it is certainly worth paying for. Don't know yet how much I will enjoy the cards, per se, but I will enjoy managing all the the facets of the team.

I am quite curious to learn how difficult it will be to develop a unique system around my personal favorite formation, the 3-5-2. Players have not only preferred positions but preferred formations, and the 3-5-2 is not nearly as common as, say, the 4-4-2. So finding players who "fit" into a less-traditional formation or system may prove to be challenging, but hopefully not too much so.

Obviously, I will need to wait and see. And hope that we can expect an offline Manager Mode in 2010 that incorporates all the good stuff from this addition. :-)

I am. If I were going to lie I would wouldn't say I was a Man City fan! I would pick a successful team It indicates Rookie because I have only just signed up to post on this forum. I think the moderator has plans to update my profile info at some point.
