Anyway, I've contacted two people, and I reckon we're on for our little video thing. Hopefully we'll have the results to show you by the end of next week. Now, if someone can recommend a good place for the game to take place in Manchester - a gaming venue of some sort - that would be lovely. I'm not to up on those things up there...
Possibly the Trafford Centre. Id gather theres plenty of shops or gaming venues that could help yous out. Sony shop,Hmv, Gamestation etc.

Trafford Centre isn't the best place tbh. It's not city centre and it's not near Eastlands or Old Trafford. Also, it's like a maze for someone who hasn't been there before! They could use a gaming shop in the city centre, there's plenty of them but it depends on the setup they have and what they need from the venue.

Urbis would be a good venue. I'm sure EA could arrange to hold it there. You could even probably speak to Channel M and use one of their rooms if Urbis itself aren't keen.

HMV Gamerbase (if it doesn't have to be on PS3).

Weirdly enough, quite independently I've sorted things out with Gamerbase, at HMV on Market Street.

You two guys - you know who you are, I'll let you announce it if you wish - we'll be heading there after recording a bit of video elsewhere.

Everyone else, we should be at Gamerbase for the match-up at about 12 noon on Wednesday 8th July. Feel free to drop by if you're in the area

More the merrier!

Not familiar with "Gamerbase" but I know where HMV is on Market Street. Is the match to be played on 360 or PS3? Is it just one match between MANC and MANU or will we get the opportunity to take on EA staff aswell?

Cheers

How will this work? Everyone knows that Manchester United fans don't live in Manchester!

Well it was a big ask but I'm on my way to the Airport in Korea - because thats where all United fans live by your logic - JUST to play one game of fifa.

It's alright though I'll just claim expenses from EA and they'll make the game cost more.

Gamerbase - Gamerbase Manchester Location

HMV on Market Street

p.s. it appears the game will be played on 360 cause Gamerbase only have PCs and 360s.

FIFA 09 only - FIFA 10 is still under wraps and I don't have a Dev kit up here with me

but come along - more the merrier. I reckon Gamerbase will help us out with a few games...

Well we met up this morning, did a bit of filming and then played some games. I had to stand outside Old Trafford in my City shirt and got heckled by random people walking past us! Was all part of the fun and added to the banter! Unfortunately Man U won the first match 2-0 (but I think he was expecting to beat me about 8-0 to be fair! ), I beat Rom (Liverpool) 2-1 and then Liverpool won 2-1 against United. So 1W 1L each

Was good fun. I got the chance to point out a few things whilst playing and Rom assured me they had all been addressed in Fifa10. Unforunately Rom was quite tight lipped about Fifa 10 and wasn't giving anything away so I didn't manage to get any new info for you

I think they're gonna post the video online in a couple of weeks. Look out for it!

Unlucky lad. I completley forgot about that being on today. Atleast it sounds like the problems have been sorted out.

I had absolutely zero confidence after being drunk last night and fully expected to be battered myself.

P.S Rom is the cocktease of gaming "It will be better but I cant tell you why" and he was lucky to win when rio ferdinand went wandering.

You did have the upper hand though; not only playing as United, but playing against a City side without the January updates!! I had the likes of Michael Ball in my team! Ball v Ronaldo hmm....

I'm pleased they model players realistically though; Jo can't hit a barn door with a banjo when wearing a City shirt!
