Overview
The team management settings do not persist, even when saved.

Steps to reproduce
1) make sure auto-save is on.
2) from the main menu, go to manage teams->team management
3) edit a formation for a team
4) press the b button and save it in a custom slot
5) go back to the dashboard and restart the game
6) go into team management and choose your new formation

Expected results
the new formation is still there


Actual results
the new formation is not there

Platform information
Xbox 360, Ultimate team installed, connected to Xbox Live.

I already had 21 formations saved.

Overview
I get the Ranked Winner trophy after losing a match

Steps to reproduce
1) Play your first game on ps3 with a new account
2) Lose the game

Expected results
no trophy

Actual results
ranked winner pops up at the end of the game, then when checking my trophy collection i see i have the ranked winner trophy 'win a ranked online match'

reproducible on an account that has played fifa 09 before but not before trophies were introduced.

aiming at the side of where the GK is at, and shooting with (L1+) a power shot will almost always go in.

I think in real football if a player with a strong shot like Gerrard takes a free-kick just outside the penalty area he has a great chance of scoring...

This was originally intended as it's own thread, but as this seems like a seriously appropriate place... here it is. There are many more parts to come.

[So, now EA have finished fiddling around with their Ultimate Team mode, it's time for some sound advice. In this thread I will address a number of factors which I believe need to be implemented/changed in the move from FIFA 09, to FIFA 2010.

These are the things which I'm going to talk about:

1. Central flaws to the gameplay engine - Ball accumulation, charging, restricted movement, tactics/formations compatabilities
2. Central flaws to the online play - Team ranking, assists
3. Central flaws to 'Be A Pro'

1: The Central Flaws in FIFA 09's gameplay:

Though in many ways FIFA 09 has improved so much... it is still a game which is fraught with flaws. It's sad, but, however many steps forward EA have made, they are still overwhelmed by the fact the matches still revolve around random, messy, and totally unrealistic play.

FIFA 09 is a game which, on occasion excites me, and amazes me. Occasionally football feels so... right. The perfect passing maneuver leads forth to a wonderful shot... and you really do yell sometimes at the beauty of the play... and that's something which is fantastic.

However, a lot more of the time, I'm mumbling bitterly about the absurdity of some of the football which is going on. There are many, many reasons for this. Many many reasons which have been posted on for a very long time and very frequently. So, a lot of what I'm going to say has been said before - but hopefully what I do say will add something, or change the way it tends to be looked at.

Now, I'm going to split these flaws into a few little areas:

Above anything in FIFA 09, what I believe matters most is not your shooting, or your passing, or your vision - but your ability to accumulate, and recycle the ball once you lose it. The ability to keep making tackles in attack and midfield, slowly wearing down the opponents ability to continue to make tackles.

So often in this game, you make a tackle, and quickly lose possession again because the immediate control you have over your player is depressingly low. You tackle, and then have to wait through extreme vulnerability where you can be tackled very easily indeed... all the while having little to no control over where the ball goes... A lot of this is down to the fact that in this game you have such restricted movement. 8 degrees of movement when moving slowly... 16 when moving quickly...

Thing is... when you have the ball, the opponent has 360 degree movement! Not only that, but they have the ultra-honing buttons A, and B which have the advantage of reacting at the speed of instantness... whereas the person who has just got the ball is having to deal with slow responsiveness, 8 degree motion, and possibly two nutcases charging at them?

The number of goals I see - especially when playing a game where people actually have the guts to not use every assist under the sun - which are produced from some random deflection from a string of half-successful tackles easily rivals the number of goals which are scored with any inch of legitimacy.

EA must free up the movement for FIFA 2010. Give us at least 32 degrees of movement, and consider adding in speed modulation. As in, the more depressed the trigger, the faster you go. The same idea for the left trigger and with slower movement. Give us the ability to move in any direction, at any speed, and then perhaps will have an even battle with the ludicrous ability to just pressure the hell out of someone.

This ability to auto-pressure has always been a flawed idea. The fact that the auto-controlled player can react faster than the responsiveness in FIFA 09 (especially online) allows is a massive unbalancing issue. The A and B buttons (sorry if you're a PS3 user) are the assists of defending.

Now, it would be unfair to say that the A and B buttons are perfect - certainly there is a time and a place for the use of the left triggers and a bit of control and more defensive defending, but, the A and B buttons are highly useful when the ball is further up the field - especially when you've just lost possession. So, so often do I see a player lose possession, somehow regain control, and instantly retackle. Especially the quick players, who aren't exactly overly under useful in this game.

It would be pointless to the extreme to go over the fact that the defenders in this game are stupid as hell leading to a large proportion of games, that, through balls are overly useful, that the formations and tactics seem to allow some things quite well... but not the ability to defend like a football team?]

I have found an issue which has effected me online twice, last night and tonight so far.

How it happend.:

I was playing as Chelsea and Ricardo Quaresma got fouled and due to that foul was injured but obviously continued as online I don't think its possible for a player to need to get subbed due to injury, anyway.. I then made a foul with him and he got sent off, thing is i never pressed any buttons after the foul was made but the game just continued ( He had been sent off ) There was no mention from the commentry team ( Andy Gray & Martin Tyler ) And their was no confirmation of a sending off. It was only when I looked on the radar next time I was attacking that I had no one on the right wing to pass too due to the red card I never knew I received.

I then checked on ricardo quaresma at half time to see the Injury icon next to him but no red card icon. I think their is an issue here as this has happened twice now in the space of 24 hours. First time I thought I must have skipped, but I knew I never. Second time I am 100% sure their is an issue since the update.

Recap:
Ricardo Quaresma got injured, I then had him sent (straight red) off but without knowing (no confirmation cut sceen. no nothing). Halftime I looked and noticed the icon for the injury next to him (his dot on the field was grayed out) but no red card. I am thinking that when injured if that player goes on to get sent off its just removing him and the game is continuing.

Commentary Glitches

Some Commentary Glitches ive noticed. Im sure there's more. if anyone knows anymore, please post them.

- When you score in literally the first attack of the game Andy Grey sometimes says 'they've been caught on the break time and time again and this time they've been punished'.

- In a Cup final when its 0-0 at half time, Martin Tylor sometimes says 'we know one team has got to go through Andy but the scores are level'.

- Sometimes Martin Tylor says you have won a corner when you havent at all.

- When you score a goal, occasionally the Commentators talk about what a great save it was from the keeper.

- When you score a late winner in a League match, Andy Grey sometimes says "and I thought we we're heading to extra time and penalties".

- When you've won the first match of the season, at the end of the match sometimes Martin Tylor says "certainly they're best result of the season".

ok, i just started playing fifa, after sometime being a PES-guy.

is there a button or a combination of buttons to cancel actions (like a pass) after you pressed it?

i know you can do a fake shot etc. but can you like do a 'super-cancel' (as they call it in PES) to cancel out your passes, crosses etc?

gets irritating when my striker keeps passing the ball away accidentally because i was initially trying to tackle their player

I then completed the remaining 3 matches of the season.

Now when I attempt to play the first match of Season 2 (in this case the Community Shield) the gamed crashes at the Arena screen.

I have tried all the usual stuff, restarting Fifa, rebooting the PS3 etc. all to no avail.

I have tried to play the first match of Season 2 around 10 times and each time it crashes at the Arena screen.

The reason I am convinced it is related to the update is that I have completed around 6 Season 1s and never experienced this problem before.
