Hello from the QA Team

Hi Guys,

I have found a Manager Mode bug after the UT update was applied.

Basically I was in Season 1 and had 3 matches left to complete the season, at this point the UT update was applied.

I then completed the remaining 3 matches of the season.

Now when I attempt to play the first match of Season 2 (in this case the Community Shield) the gamed crashes at the Arena screen.

I have tried all the usual stuff, restarting Fifa, rebooting the PS3 etc. all to no avail.

I have tried to play the first match of Season 2 around 10 times and each time it crashes at the Arena screen.

The reason I am convinced it is related to the update is that I have completed around 6 Season 1s and never experienced this problem before.

Can you enlighten on something the manual doesn't cover. What determines if a firsttime header or volley on a lobbed cross or corner goes up or down - is it a matter of when you click finish while the cross is in the air?

Without going into too much detail as it is a very complex system, there isn't really a clear cut way to tell if the ball will go up or down. It is based on a combination of the ball trajectory, positioning of the player, shot power, and when the shot button is pressed. I suggest to practice either on Amateur difficulty or with a friend to try what works best for you

Well thanks for the response. Here's an idea, have a closed beta test period for FIFA10 so that we can help test the hell out of the game before it's released.

ok m8 , thanks fr ur time , atlast ! i have seen in other threads EA_'s guys saying that they work their _ _ _ off for developing gameplay .. blah blah blah ... and ur guys had enough common sense of putting CB at near post for corners
and u didn't answer my last question ... does EA_'s guys really watch any real football matches ???

It can be difficult to get work done due to the noise level in the office during Champs League matches

Hi EA lads,

Are you planning to do anything about the obvious boosters in the FIWC and normal 1 vs 1 rankings? this guy called Pauleco at no.2 in 1 vs1 is a booster he boosts off his cousin Kilmaine who was on my firends list and told me he was doing it. Or do you guys not care about this? i want to see the REAL best player at fifa, not a geek with no life so desprate to get to no.1 at a video game

Glad u guys actually watch real football games , can u specify in which game did Rio ferdinand / John terry / Vidic etc .. or any other CB's in champions league or in any competion came to mark the near post ?

Just to know whether i missed those matches or whether i was drunk when watching those matches ?

yep , i was wondering how did he reach top 10 in so quick time ... obivisioly i knew he was boosting !! even the genuine best player can't reach their in so quick time .. !! thanks to EA servers .. lol ..

the best players are in the FIWC m8 but i can see him there along with a **** load of others to that are getting away with itbut as i asked this i was told david rutter answer this in the online QA thread he said its being looked into and will be sorted for fifa 2010

also EA_AndrewMarks i just like to add will the be a heavier ball flight in fifa 2010 it seemed fine in 08 in 09 its like a vollyball lol especially when if i pick a low team and in the box right in front of goal it just baloons it without really holding circle i find it abit misleading as in say coca cola div 2 matches they are pro footballers and cant be tha bad in front of goal

and also the woodwork take's a battering 5 of 6 times for me in one game as do other gamers say too whats the odds of that ?

I use wireless on my Xbox 360 and I never have any connection problems.

As for 85ms, from my experience, with online gaming in general, that's a decent ping. I've seen people with 150-200ms play without any noticeable lag.

FIFA own the competition - but we also get a heap of support from Customer Services. I'll be honest and say I'm trying to expand the 'screening' of cheats further than just FIWC...

It's not an overnight job, and some people are particularly ingenious in the way they boost. People in the top few positions come under more scrutiny though...

I played 8-10 ranked games last night. But half of them were rematch against the same opponent. Now I found out that only 4 games where registered?
This has happen to me before and this is not a problem for me because I don’t care about ranking. But WHY doesn’t all my games online get registered?

Bugs i noticed after the UT update, PS3 version, Italy:

- grame freeze often while in the arena loading a match.

- i cannot arrange a head to head match anynore with the same friends as i always did. I have two different internet service providers and i tryed with both.
In Italy there is a big issue with Fastweb (provider) users: they cannot play togheter, this should be because Fastweb uses a private Ip hidden.
Anyway they can play against other players, after the update they can't play anymore with almost anybody.
There's no problem playing in PRO mode.
But here is what we need to know:
Since we are a large group who plays manual tournaments, we must play some of the matches in PRO mode due to this reason. But i read in this forum that in PRO mode players are all 85 overall.
Question: is this true? is the PRO mode players A.I. and gameplay the same as head to head matches?

Players with short names on back of AC Milan shirts (Kaka/Pato/Pirlo etc.) are STILL stretched right across the back of shirt (WHY?).

My Stats for games played are stuck at 100 games and will not going any higher the more games i play and is stopping me from getting the "50 hours played" Trophy, Is there a way to fix this ?

its always stuck 100 but you will still get the achievement (i have it), just look at the minutes played on the bottom right...when you reach 3000 minutes you will get the achievement. to check the minutes played:

- MY FIFA 09 --> FIFA 09 PROFILES --> MY STATS --> (click) MY MATCHES

then as i said on the bottom right the minutes played will be displayed along with the accurate amount of games you have played

They own it yes, but its played on YOUR game that means you CAN ban the cheats, so its FIFA's fault there is boosters? you guys make me laugh. You failed to awnser my question Rutter, do you care that the fifa showpiece even in Barcelona will be full of cheats and boosters that are **** at this game? Dont you want the REAL best playing?

We know about these issues and the Gameplay Producers are always looking at ways to improve. Your best bet to have these looked at is to post in the thread started by one of our Gameplay Producers, Santiago.

Yes, the matches played shouldn't affect the Trophy/Achievement unlocking, but I'll look into the issue with matches being maxed out at 100. It shouldn't be like that
