Commentary question

I have noticed that on most of the FIFA's including FIFA 09 that the commentators don't say the Goalkeepers names. Why is that? They are part of the team and goalkeepers do play a major role in winning the match.

There should be commentators saying "Cech has just pulled off a great save there" etc. Instead of "The goalkeeper has just picked up the ball, The goalkeeper throws the ball out now" etc, etc. Has anyone else noticed that?

I hope that they did include the goalkeepers names being said by the commentators in FIFA 2010 anyway.

They do say gk thrown a long ball and stuff but not their name not a biggy imo

Good point. I remember even in World Cup 98, the commentator said the keeper name. As England i often played Tunisia in the group stages 'great save by el-Oauer, called into action for the first time in the game and he did really well'.

I'm pretty sure there are things said specially about certain goalkeepers, I just can't recall what is said lol

I think it would get tiresome really fast. Imagine if every time they stopped the ball the made the same comment, over and over and over again...

It would drive me crazy. Keepers are way too involved in the game to be named everytime they stop a ball.

It wouldnt have to be everytime they stopped the ball. it could just be in certain instances. ie, Rooney has a great powerfull 30yrd shot which is heading towards the top corner and then the Commentator says "Terrific save by Petr Cech". then Andy Grey could comment about his lightning quick reflexes.

They should still commentate on the penalty screen, I would like to hear that guy shouting *BORUC! Flying save from the Pole, Louis Saha denied!
