Must be something wrong with your cable or the TV. Check the TV's settings too.

erm... wrong. a dvd cant display HD MOVIE content. the DVD is just the delivery mechanism. i can play much higher resolution on my PC running games from CD! let alone DVD. you are right to a certain extent that the xbox cant display HD movie content without their HD drive, but the xbox can display HD resolution, this is simply down to the gfx card and use of HDMI and component connections (of which hdmi 1.3 is the superior spec - not sure if the xbox does hdmi 1.3 though, ps3 does)

remember many dvd players can output 1080i... as the device upscales. and fifa is only semi-HD anyway. being 720p - upscaled.
