Anyhow, on the Irish FIWC event... its more of a marketing issue and not something Dave can click his fingers over to make it happen. He said that he will discuss the opportunity with the marketing department bearing in mind that EA Sports also sponsor our League Cup competition, so I suggested tying the 2 events together...

For the Cologne gaming event, it is hoped that a number of things will be implemented and demonstrated, and a "My Country" leaderboard is amongst them. Not guaranteed, but I've reminded Dave that this is something that would at least be very nice for some friendly competition and rivalry between ourselves.

In general, I met loads inside the FIFA department, including some who visit the forums regularly - they were familiar with me as the daffy duck avatar guy but nobody could really pronounce my name, which is nothing new (you should hear the attmepts on Call of Duty 4 online!!). I was spoilt to be honest, so I guess I'll have to be nicer now in here towards EA Sports

So that's really it folks - I hope my meeting and this petition helps in our persuit of an event and some direct interaction between us Irish and EA Sports.

I feel like hugging you for your efforts! I can only imagine the canadians trying to say daherlihy must of been very amusing. I had a look through the leaderboards today and I saw even Chile has one even though there is not even enough on it for 100! As for the FIWC, indeed they do sponsor our league cup, Wexford got far in that last season . Good idea trying to fuse the two together but I dont see what problem Dave has with the marketing, Fifa sells very well here if you see it in a certain way. I know the UK and the US are the biggest buyers of Fifa but if you put it to how many people own a PS3/Xbox that have Fifa. We would be one of the leaders in that respect. There is alot of good Irish players out there I hope that we wil have a chance to prove it on a bigger stage than the cheat infested online qualifiers.
