Hi guys,
Sorry I've not been on recently; busy times getting back into it after our Xmas break! Anyway, I thought you might be interested to read a Blog written by the President of EA Sports, Peter Moore. Peter is a big footy fan & was very surprised FIFA 09 didn't make Eurogamers Top 50 games of 2008. Anyone else agree? I know its the game I've played the most this year ![]() <http://itsinthegame.ea.com/archive/2....aspx#comments> EDIT: Link doesn't seem to work. Can get to it from this one: Peter Moore Wants to Know, “Where the Hell is FIFA 09?” | GameCyte Enjoy. Mike Last edited by EA_MikeTakla; 08-01-2009 at 04:29 AM.. |

I do agree. Not on the top 50 = ludicrous

![]() Last time he came to the office we did a crossbar challenge & he was one of the few to hit the cross bar. Although admittedly we did let him have quite a few goes... "after you Mr President" ![]() Regarding your requests, we'll see what we can do this year. We did a lot with the crowd in FIFA 09 - its always a balancing act with making the crowd better & making sure it doesn't affect gameplay. I'm sure you'll agree nobody wants gameplay slowdown. |

Gameplay is important, the most important but football (as you know) is a culmunation of what goes on on on th epitch as well as in the stands. EA is all about presentation, authenticity. Please pass word along about the trophy celebration. Not just players jumping twice for 2 seconds. Thats extremely lame. Imagine watching a CL final and when the game ends, telling the winner "congrats, now get outta here"!!! Thats the feeling we get when we win in FIFA. Honestly. It's the equivalent of reading a great book but omitting the final chapter, the equivalent of getting a birthday cake but not being allowed to eat it. The equivalent of graduating from the university but being denied the degree. Sorry, but Im really passionate about this and I assure you that thousands feel the same. Thanks for listening to my rant! P.S - guys please be cordial, a broken link happens.

I probably don't play enough games to have an opinion on the top 50. However I think Fifa is great and have been playing it since 99!
Plenty of room for imporvement too, I know you guys will be working hard on that.. |

With boring games like Fallout 3 and Fable 2 making the top spots, Fifa09 could at least make top10 I think. But I don't think people even consider a game like Fifa for these ranking lists because of the bad reputation EA sports franchises have for just being yearly roster updates milking the money out of people.

is this top 50 on all consoles? if so, that explains why. NHL/NFL were better sports games, too many good shooters out there, + racing games but if PES is there then you know Konami were secret sponsors
(you know what I mean, bribery with free goodies and limited ed stuff [ wonder why IGN comes to mind here] )

I would rather you dealt with the many issues affecting mine and many others online enjoyment rather than posting these silly threads that no-one actually cares about.
Happy New Year.

The game was massive, took hours and hours to complete, and had loads to do, unlike FIFA 09 (even tho its the best sports game of last year, Madden 09 been a close 2nd)

It might be massive, have all kinds of stuff to do and pretty graphics, but it's still a numbingly boring experience
![]() Fifa09, COD4, GTA4 and Mass Effect (cant remember if it was released in 08 or 07) are my favourite games of the past year :P |

Tiger did not reach the Top 200 because basically its a re-hashs every year of the same thing.. Appalling graphics for next gen, big mounds of carpet green lol
FIFA on the other hand suffers from 'add on thing this year, take it out the next" no continuity at all. This years FIFA is one of the best but so so many problems, id like to take its basic model and IMPROVE on it next year, will that happen? Nope, you guys got form. |
