Advice on dealing with certain people

Ok,so i just finished a couple of matches,i was Liverpool,he was Man U (just to set the scene,he played 4-5-1,ronaldo up top and pinged through balls all day).I beat him 2-1.I then receive the following messages(vulgar language to follow):

1.U ****in charging ****

2.Rematch and ill kill you

3.No charging this time you cheat.

The rematch happened,sadly,i lost 2-1(two ronaldo goals,meh,what ya gonna do)

During which time,he dealt out abuse over the headset,i didnt plug mine in,didnt see fit to lower myself to that.

After the match,i sent "gg",as i've began doing,its only polite after all.

to which i receive:Lol do u wanna bumlick me sum more

Have since sent a message saying: No - Its only a video game calm down.

Have just filed complaint for text messages.

Is this the right way to handle this?It was soooo tempting to hurl abuse back but then i figured,nah,im better than that.

What would you do?(I did think about the whole,omg,man u. But when messages run deeper than a game,perhaps not)

Edit To Add: It was a little bit more on the profanity-o-meter,but the sensors would have a stroke.

Edit To Add(sorry): Whats charging? i call it shoulder to shoulder,muscling ronaldo off the ball or using what you've got to be honest.

I just never play Man U, They use them to have an advantage, which is a bit lala in Man U's case, if everybody that complained about them just didnt play them then nobody would be Man U as they have nobody to play.

As for messages, ignore them?

When a guy does that **** to me, I just refuse to give him a rematch.. Then I know he will sit at home crying like a baby. And I like the thought of the fact that I made him do that....

Don't give him the chance to get you pi**ed off, cuz you will regret it so badly when/if you lose the 2nd match.

Yea,but considering i scored the winner as a result of him passing to my striker 5 yards from goal,felt like it was only right.

i wouldnt have rematched him...and depending on the mood im in, i might talk back to him or i might just relax and laugh it off. i never get upset, but i do like to have a go at people sometimes.

definitly the mature thing to do was how you handled it.

I can't stand playing ranked games, so I decided I'd do unranked, I thought yeah I could beat this guy, he was Arsenal I was Spurs, all he was doing was running down the wing with Walcott, then doing cutbacks he beat me 3-1, and he hacked me out, I sent him a message do you know how to score other than cutbacks, the reply I got: yeah your mum... how the hell am I losing to such an imature person.

I might set up my own league just for fun.

I they are agressive to me I just send them a bad feedback so I am less likely to play against that person again and block the communication, I don't waste my time with these kind of people anymore.

Rise above it, these people are sad.

That said however, most people are like this, you won't get rid of them, so put up with it, but you might aswell laugh at it whilst you're at it.

damn guys, manchester united is not hard to beat. sometimes I really wonder if you guys are actually experienced players. ronaldo is not the player you all seem to think he is I can stop every player 80% of the time no matter if is messy or some forward from a 1 star team.
I play against manchester united, arsenal, barcelona, chelsea, no big deal.
just play smart and cover well. I know now people think im arrogant, but it just amazes me how people are always complaining about this teams and how overrated ronaldo is and bla bla bla.

Ive just started last week, with the online fifa, the BAP is good, even though it sometimes resembles an under 8s sunday league side with
7 players crowding the ball and no one at the back minding the shop.
Ive had a few matches with people and do get constantly tired of people always pick Man U Barca Inter. The best game ive played thus far was a tight 2-1 against Hertha Berlin with me as Atalanta,

You all sound like honest folk who like to play 4 to 3* sides, so if you fancy a match give me a shout my PSN is FyranBrygo,
Im GMT so usually 7 till 11ish ill be about.

I dont have a headset yet next on my list of purchases,

Ive had abuse on other games, i had a particulaly memorable 30min typeing spat in World of Warcraft, long story short the lad thought it was real life, and the one thought that you must always remember is. Your abuser is threatening death, dealing insults and making out they're 10men into a glowing box in the corner of his room.

I find it serves best if you either wind them up even more by pointing out the futility of theyre actions. Or just be polite, they hate it.

I've been reading threads about abusive players and was thankful it hadn't happened to me...until Monday evening.

I played someone - I was Spurs and he was Liverpool. It was a close match and could have gone either way until the 75th minute when I scored with Darren Bent. I then managed to score two more on the break as I guess he changed to all out attack.

I sent him a note saying 'gg...I got a little lucky on the break'.

He replied with 'F*** u'.

What's that about!?

after every game i always send a message saying good game, and I agree with the guy who said games between lower star teams i better, I played a game last night against Bayer Leverkausen and I was Catania from Italy (just to look to see how big thier striker is) and it was a brilliant game which went all the way to penalties which he won due to me hitting the bar with the final penalty. It was real end to end stuf with plenty of passing and cheeky tricks from both of us which we both had a joke about. Next game i get some snotty 9 year old irish kid who played as liverpool, i chose Valencia (Zigic and Villa up front) because Liverpool's RB and LB are too easy to beat, stuffed him 5-1, Zigic hat trick all headers(he's super tall) then sent him good game message and he replied "your sh*t".

I just replied "what ws the score mate? jog on now...."

I always say 'Good Game' after, unless he played unfairly. If I get any insults, I just go even nastier. It shuts them up every time!

I just send them back blank messages until they stop responding. Can't believe you gave him a rematch though, those games against Ronaldo abusers are so boring, don't think I could stomach two games in a row like that

There is always going to be some idiots online, but I've found that most people are friendly enough.

I send gg messages win or loose unless they really are R2 MAN U/Barca abusers.

i'm a bit reserved about messaging "gg" when i win, b/c most people have a bad reaction, so i use it only when i lose.

I dont rematch against anyone. Even if they ask. Its just not worth it. If you lose the re match they will hurl abuse at you and if you win the rematch they'd still hurl abuse at you lol.

Just play a game and move on to the next opponent.
