Manager Mode Stupid Question

Hello everyone

I am thinking of getting FIFA09 for the PS3 but was wondering, when you play in manager mode do you still get to physically control the players as normal, or is it purely statistics based like football manager.

Go get the game, it aint perfect but its the best footy game yet.
