Lol I guess but it doesn't really matter what place I am, I'm still 5,000 points off 5th place!

It is. Regular rank has no prize at the end (right?) whilst FIWC is a tournament where the top 5 players from Europe, 2 from Asia ETC get to go to this tournament with the winners of regional tournaments (LAN events in Australia, India etc..). The winner recieves $20,000 (or pounds?) and a KIA car.
