well somebody who suggested this is dumb, because if you play a 1-2 past last defender, your offside.

Unless the player you pass to is also past the last defender, then theres no point passing, just learn to time a through ball, just as your player runs past, then pass it.

i play on a ps3, and when i do a one-two, all i do is just pass the ball to the nearest teammate. and as that happens i press 'L1' to make the player who initially received the ball make a run. and then i play a through ball to him. hope that makes sense.

you just need to time it right.

Edit, What is the point in playing a 1-2 past the last defender when you can just play a through ball and you will be 1v1?

And a one two doesnt work, because as you play the ball, you run PAST the defender, By the time your other player gets the ball your offside.

I know fine how to time a run.

Another idiot, When you play a 1-2 from one players back being to a defender, he is going to have ran past him by the time your 2nd player recieves the ball and passes. and offside

Fail, because you pass the first past for a one two, the guy is now running to recieve the "2"...

if he passes BEFORE you run vertical to him... then no, your in line and your not offside as your not BEYOND the last defender...

if he was then the FIRS person who recieved the "1" would be offside..

as you play the ball it becomes a straight race between the defender and striker, and as long as you play the return ball quick he will still be onside. anyway hes not always offside, cos sometimes the fullbacks can play him onside.

In the context that this question was asked, playing a 1-2 i can guarantee he will be offside unless both of your players you play the 1-2 with are past the last defender.

in that sence yes, but im hoping the OP is talking about a distance that is further as a 1-2 in such a short distance is pointless.. im going on the presumtion that he knows this...

adam you are an idiot, if you 1 touch quick pass straight back to the runner, he should be onside and through on goal.

Exactly, so he would be offside after playing the 1st pass, the 1st player runs past defender, and then by the time the ball gets to the 2nd player, he is past and offside.
