Yeah, quickly... like it takes 1 second from having a defender behind you to running past them and being in an offside position, so by the time the ball gets to the 2nd player the 1st has ran past and is offside.

he is talking about the striker facing AWAY from goal... not to the sidelines

Well if you have 1 defender and they have two attackers, your a bit ****ed, but i would just hold L2 or LT and back away.

in order for this to happen... the runner(person who does the "1") needs to be PAST the person recieving it BEFORE that person(the actual player on the screen) does the "2"...

doesnt happen.

If you do it over short distances the return pass usually gets played before he is offside. If the passing is over longer distances then there is more time involved and therefore more chance of being called offside. Generally though someone controlling the defender will run backwards and try and intercept rather than try and play the striker offside so you get more time for the return ball too.

OP you can use either throughball or pass for the return ball, each has its uses but I'd use thethroughball if you're trying to get through on goal.

try and anticipate it, and get ur players back into position, or us the offside trap, but that takes too long

Yeah , what i was saying he would have to be very close in order for the return to be played before he runs into an offside position, which is unlikely

Well if you have two strikers it's a lot easier. But you would normally see the marked striker play the return pass not instigate it.

This is not necessarily true mate even if both your players are past the last defender if one passes it FORWARD to the other it will be offside.

Even if two players are free of the last defender the pass must go backwards or level not forwards.
