Speed cheat????!!!

Ello all, im new to this forum but thought i may aswell join seen as though im an avid fifa fan.

What the hell is speed cheat? ive thrashed people and then they msg me sayin how all i do is speed cheat?

Anyone care to enlighten me?

You through-ball it to a fast striker, like Ronaldo, Torres, Eto'o.

Some consider it a cheat because the defenders act lalalalalalaed to through balls

the cpu cheats when playing on World Class and legendary difficult, but I haven't heard about this.

I never play with any of the top teams tho, i thought they might class speed cheat as when you play a quick passing game?

Makes me laugh that they call it a cheat though, id say just good fifa playing, theyll be the IDIOTS that just get the ball and run like hell with ronaldo

Whenever i start manager mode, all i look for is a striker with pace and faily decent finishing, because you can rip defences to shreds. So i player like this is useful online.

But the speed cheating being referred to is probably over-usage of a player such as ronaldo.

people who ALWAYS use through balls to score or lob through balls the whole game gets very very lame, it's a tactic and that's fair, but to be lame and abuse/exploit this is ugly, there is no fun in that, not to take away from their winnings but it just comes down to them using no skill, i believe most people just find this an easy and cheap way to score goals, it's really funny looking when they sprint with the ball and leave the defender as if they were STANDING STILL, wait a minute that is exactly what they do, anywho just play to your likings and LET'S FIFA 09!!

its all about playing defense, maybe once in ten games i give up 3-4 goals and once in every 25 give up 5-6. Basically switching defenders constantly will help and using the L2 button as well to strafe the player and not overrun assignments.

I've been playing online a bit lately, and this through ball stuff is indeed, very very lame.

Is it a cheat? No. is it playing the game in the spirit it was meant for? No.

Is it fun to play? No.

Hence, if someone is constantly doing this to me in a game, I'll just quit. either you want to play FIFA09, or you don't. Making the same moves over and over and over is plain sad.

I dont just play through ball play, i like to play a good game of fifa, i personally dont think you can cheat on fifa

if someone is playing a through ball game you cover the person u think there going to pass to n hold circle so another one of your players go to the person on the ball

if someone is running with ronaldo or any other fast players just drop off them a little bit so they cant take advantage

you can always find ways round things

if anyone wants a game then ill show ya that i dont "cheat"

There are ways to defend it, mate. But really it says a lot about the type of person you're playing. No imagination, no tactics, and no interest in playing an open game.

yer but everyone plays the game differently, its just like real life, look at stoke city, a lot of goals by them have come from a rory delap throw in, if that happened in a game the likes of you would say that they are cheaters, when they arent, there just takin advantage of a strong point theyve got mate

im all for a fair game of fifa but if someone uses a long ball all d time or a fast person sprinting constantly then you just try and stop them from doing it and play your own game and just dont get annoyed at it

Well, I don't confuse real life with a computer game. If a team wants to do this all day long in real life, then the players out there have a lot more time to react to it. In FIFA09 it's a lalalala shoot. So it's not the same thing at all.

Basically people who constantly use the through ball in FIFA are trying to exploit an issue with the game, and that's what makes it lame, and no fun at all to play against.

I'm playing for fun - and if someone is spoiling the fun by doing the same thing over and over and over, then it's my choice to simply not play with them. Personally I think they need to grow up a bit.

almost right lol u should only really hold circle or B for me if they are extremely close to ur net, if they aint then ur just leaving another space wide open. But like somebody mentioned everybody has there own tactics and maybe this works for you.

another good thing to do is make sure ur only playin 1 person if they have a guest and ur not experienced dont play them because they will have a good upper hand all game. This is because they always have one player running off the ball and so they can get into good positions quite easily and basically run rings around your defence

anywhos just dont make any defenders charge in because this leaves you wide open for through balls, i havnt lost any games badly using this tactic infact ive lost about 40games overall but ive won nearly 200 now so like i say it works! lol.

Also just read this one... kinda stupid if you ask me.
