EA please please fix this in another patch omg the offside calls are often so late that it shouldn't even have been bothered to be called, sometimes players run a good 20 yards with the ball before the whistle is blown. And refs handing out a yellow or worse a red after allowing play to go on way way way too much its a nice little touch but its well overdone. If theres an offense worthy of a straight red card play should not have continued in the first place, and the yellow card ones are just getting too common now.
Anyone as frustrated with the delayed calls as me? Last edited by chig; 02-12-2008 at 01:52 AM.. |

actualy been a couple times where i have commited a foul with a player .. had the other team play on so far that it does not get called back .. then win the ball back get it upfield and score with the player ... and since the goal is the next stop in play after the foul .. have him sent off after scoring!!

The offside thing is fine, it makes it exciting imo. But the delay when handing out cards really grinds my gears, especially when it's a particularly nasty challenge. They need to be issued on the spot.

I think the red card situation is fine and also the way its applied is correct. Red cards do not mean that play must be stopped immediately. People need to learn the games laws.

We are aware of the rules. Thing is; how many times do you actually see it happen? If a red card offence is committed, the Ref 95% of the time will not play advantage but stop play and send the player on his way. For a second yellow, the advantage would more often be played than if it was a straight red, but it's still quite rare.

I dont think you know the game laws very well and much about human discretion. How after witnessing a straight red challenge would any ref allow play to continue? Have you ever seen it before?

It's hardly a major issue, if an issue at all. If you ask me, it's likely that the issue is more to do with the likelihood of HAVING advantage in this game, due to flaws in the way tackles work, than the after-play calls.
The bug, on the other hand, where a second yellow doesn't get them sent off, and in fact wipes their card tally.

I don't actually care too much about any of this - what bothers me is that the referee doesn't know what an advantage is. I've had virtually near breakaway opportunities called back on me because the referee decided that I didn't have an advantage.
It's like, you've just made it past your opponent after he's failed to take you out, and now he's on the ground, and you're almost home free... but then the referee blows his whistle and makes you take a free kick that you didn't even want. They've got to fix that. |

And yes, it is a major problem. The votes show it, its ridiculous, and unreal, and most of all stupid & annoying. If you are seeing a red long enough after a challenge to actually forget what earned the red it is a major problem. I assume the few have voted that it isn't a problem have not yet encountered it.
