Totally agree, Cooley. There's some inconsistency going on, and it's ****ing me off. I lost a game yesterday because of absolute bull****. My defenders could not for the life of them tackle or keep up with my opposition striker (Ibasevic of Hoffenheim). Yes he probably had ALS on and yes the striker is the top scorer right now....but lalala every single time he got the ball he literally walked throuhg my players even though I pressing the jostle, tackle and every button.

I was winning 3-2 in ET with 3 minutes to go, and surely I could just hold on. But this game intentionally makes you have NO control whatsoever of the outcome, so he gets a freekick outside the box and I know he is going to just pass it to Ibasevic so I get ready to close him down right away. What happens? Despite pressing the switch button no one moves, everyone stands still and he waltzes in for an equaliser. If I wasnt ****ed already, my player passes straight to his from kick off, even though I never passed it there, he through balls from over the halfway line to who else, two of my defenders have sadwiched him, yet despite pressing the jostle button he still manages to shrug off TWO of my defenders, outpace them, I bring out my keeper and he STILL manages to round him and finish even with nearly 5 players around him. So after being 3-2 up with 3 minutes to go in ET I still manage to lose the game 4-3 just like that. Scripted bull****. I tried to keep the ball in my half but oh no, that's not in the rules of the game isit, we're just going to make sure your passes go straight back to him so he can equalise. Cheating ****. And I had about 15 chances too. One game I would score nearly every one, but the next I may miss every one. It's a joke, something up, I know how to finish, but it depends if the game wants you to score or not. It's not always that the opposition is that good, because this guy wasn't, he just through balled to one player ALL game, it's the stupid bloody game itself.

And does anyone have a problem with switching players? Like when a striker is running towards goal and you have two defenders running back, you want to control the defender nearest the striker, it changes to him.....but then keeps changing back to the one furthest away! It happens everytime, and mostly resulting in a goal.

If it sucks I will set up a new profile and start again I think. Im now 1300 points from my next skill level.....

I play on the PS3, and my name is Kindred71. So far I'm loving the game, but two things that I don't like. First is the morons that quit, because they can't handle losing, but that looks like its never going to go away, or EA will never do something about it. Second how the heck can I see my rank. Every time i look at my rank i have nothing. When will it show.

errrr a little off topic....

We all hate quitters, its a fact of life and sucks. Thats it end of.

Second if you dont have a rank its because you arent in the top 10,000 you need around 1100-1200 skill points and a good win ratio to be ranked.

I am ranked around 8000 now with 1182 skill points, 288 wins and 188 losses and im level 17.

I agree with what most people have said in this thead, but I would add that I only experiance these kind of problems every now and then, it's not every game. For example I was play this level 4 earlier today, he was Wolves and I was Norwich and during the game it felt like I was up against a 5 star team because of the way I was constantly getting out paced and out strengthed. My players reactions seemed far slower than his, now normally in online fifa games if one person is lagging in a game then the other person will experiance some lag aswell, but this game had the feel of just me lagging while his gameplay was as smooth as offline. I went onto lose that game 4-0.

Latter on tonight I played a couple of online games, one of which was Norwich v Wolves (this time against someone else) and the game appeared to be run normal as ever.

Oh, it feels good to know that other people have noticed the bizarre things occurring lately. I was on an 8 game winning streak and then suddenly after the update my players looked slow and out of shape and I lost 6 straight to a bunch of level 1 players. This definitely makes me feel better about the online weirdness going around.

Yeah I've definitely noticed this, just this morning I played Tottenham and he was playing some super stuff with high pressure and bursting thro' my defence constantly with Bent and Lennon, ended up 4-4 going to penalties and lost on them as usual. Didn't think it'd be too bad as he should be a high rank so should only lose about 30 ish skill points, nope he turned out to be a level 3 who took 71 points off me for winning on penalties.

It has started to happen over the last 2 days but I'm enjoying the challenge as it got boring beating people more than 10 goals constantly with levels lower than 10.

I go play a quick ranked game he picks a dutch 3* team I pick a dutch 2.5* team.

We get in to the game and apart from him having 4 deep defenders the rest are like attackers but they arent ordinary attackers they are super human ones that can dodge tackles. If it werent for the fact they were in red I would swear I was playing the chelsea team.

Bursting through my defence, my defenders controlled and called stand there and watch.

The guy is level 1 I am level 17 and I manage 1 shot.....1 shot to his 15 on target and luckily I only lose 2 nil.

This aint right, everytime i passed his player was there to intercept everytime i try to turn i go 90 degrees. All the clearances went to him, every header jostle or not went to him.

I aint a sore loser I have lost 189 now and won 288 so its not that. only one pass out of 5 actually made it to my player and the ones that did were usually intercepted because every player on my team was man marked.

This is rubbish, I dont mind losing but I would rather lose of my own accord than the CPU dictating it.

I am thoroughly annoyed. Where has the responsiveness and flow gone in the game why does it feel like I am playing people over 2 cups and a line of string lalala

Exactly the same type of game I just finished playing, thus turning off my PS3 of the day because I'm going to go crazy in a minute. It's not me playing ****, it's scripted lalalalalalalala that I can't do anything about. What the **** has happened to this game??

I was so annoyed lastnight i went and played GT5p for the first time in eons online. No lag just lalalala drivers.

There is something up cause this aint right.

I dont deserve to win but i at least deserve a chance to win. Sure give the noobs a little help with defence but come on 10 perfect through balls to a 3* attacker that is stronger than CR give me a break even if I am in front of them they still get the ball.

This would explain why the servers were down if they are adding helping AI or doing something with the in game scripting.

Freaking ridiculous, I get out played, out passed, out tackled in the last 20 games come on. I aint that good but I can damn sure hold the scores level to a person a few levels below me.

That's assisted throughballs at its "best". Me and many others have experienced and tried to explain those before. They're just too perfect. Even make defenders dodge away to ease of the attacker. I had 4 defenders pressuring Torres once and they miraculously spread apart to let him past and score...

You are not the only one who has done that if you decide to do so... A lot of those level 1's have multiple accounts... Me, I don't bother. Take a loss and get on with it, that's my motto. (Even though I hate losing against assists exploiters. )

Sure some times I am out classed but 20 games now I have been pressured and my team can do nothing but stand and watch. I change tactics you name it and it's not doing anything. Well off to Lapland tomorrow for 3 days so maybe the time off will help but if it's still me against them their ai and my ai I'm gonna shelf this game. I defended it for so long but can't now.

That's why I've played some quick BAP online lately, chaos, but hilarious! Just can't take those quick matches seriously. And I love bringing Molde FK into those fire-proof slaughters against Barca, Chelsea, Arsenal and so on. People get upset when I only let in the odd goal. I've gotten flamed for cheating once after losing only 0-1 after extra time, and that was an unranked game.

By the way; Have a safe trip and enjoy your stay up in the outskirts of Finland. It's pure Twilight Zone up there. I know, because I've been touring with my band through those parts of Finland some 8 years ago. Never stop for hitch-hickers at 4 a.m out in foggy no-mans land. At least I didn't.

Yeah, I've noticed some changes for sure. I just lost to some scrub with a record of 2-8...WHAT THE lalala? I feel like the game wouldn't let me do anything and when I tried to do something, it felt like the game just didn't understand. I'm so sick of losing to scrubs online due to complete lala. This game was fun in the beginning. But now, its getting so old. The main thing that annoys me in this game. Is the style of plays that can be pulled off. 2-3 passes and your at the goal.

One thing to remember: Only because a player is level 1 or has a negative record (as sp4c1n420 stated his opponent had a "2-8 record") doesn't mean you're playing against a newbie / bad player.
Just yesterday I had a similar game against a guy with a 5 - 15 record. I thought "OK, this should be easy" but then he turned out to be quite a tough guy to beat. I won 3:2 but then I knew why his record was so bad: he always quits when he's loosing.

And the level tells you nothing about how good an opponent is. There are certainly a lot of guys around who are practicing offline first (maybe even on "Legendary") and then get online to bet the lalalala out of you.

Anyway, I learned to be quite picky about who I play against and who not. My rules are:

- If the guy takes a top team like Barca or Manu, I don't play him.
- If he puts his cursor on Athletico just to switch to Barca after I took my team, I also quit instantly.
- If he chooses a shirt color that isn't in accurate contrast to mine, just because he ultimately wants to play in yellow or something, I also quit.
- If he takes more than half a minute in tactics settings, I also get out.

--> this way I generally meet "passable" opponents

Combine that with my "avoided players" list (only on XBOX unfortunately) and you get the "ultimate way of meeting fitting opponents".



Now if there wasn't this "1 of 2 quick ranked match sessions can't be started cause you can't choose a team" bug, I would find fitting opponents much faster
