I could not agree more with your view on FIFA now Gcooley. It feels like an entirely different game with all the exploits cheats high pressure teams and horrible custom formations =(. FIFA 10 could not come soon enough.

Dunno how this happened but I am currently on a 16 win streak. This is my highest ever streak on this game. Even though I have had my fair share of laggy connections, I've still managed to pull it through so far. I'm happy with my game so far and I hope it's gonna keep it that way...2 things I'd like to mention though:

1. Do I need around 3000 skill points in order to enter the rankings? I think I have around 2800 or something. I though that after winning these game will place me in the ranking...but no...

2. I always read these forums and see how many people are complaining about Man U, Barca, etc, speed glitches and things like that. Try this: NEVER play against teams like Man U, Barca, Chelsea, Inter, France or Spain for that matter...Always search for people who use NORMAL teams, even though that might take a while

I am having a blast playing classic matches like : Panathinaikos - AEK, Celtic - Glasgow, Lyon - Marseille, Galatasaray - Fenerbahce, Werder - HSV and so on...Just give it a try!

how is everyone and these online changes or is there more concern with all the more serious issues such as the dream team glitch? I jst peaked 3000 rank pts today with an amazing run and no connection or AI issues. I then lost three successive games thanks to horrendous AI ... the most basic of passes for example were not being controlled by my players... As if they lost their first touches! The ball was literally ricocheting of shins left right and centre...what a fix FIFA09 is

FIFA is such a frustrating game and it's all down to the AI. Like the rest of you I have bouts of great form followed by tragic form and it is all down to the AI. Quite simply the form should be dictated by the player (ie. my ability, my form) and not the software.

Tonight I have experienced my players being vastly outpaced by slower players, tackling being as good as pointless, passes going in the wrong direction, players unable to control basic passes then being disposessed, then a penalty and red card after the software kindly took a lunge at a striker inside my box. Whilst in this particular state of AI my strikers consistently hit the woodwork (on the rare occasion they actually shot as opposed to waiting for a second to issue my commands and getting disposessed), whilst my opponent had only a couple of efforts from ridiculous situations that rifled into the top corner to snatch the win.

This all sounds pretty childish to complain about in one sense, but I just want a good game, win or lose, with fairness and consistency of gameplay at the core.

Gaming should be a thing of enjoyment and not frustration. My ability should dictate my form, not the software. I came on this forum to find out what I was doing wrong, but it seems I am not alone with my sentiments about this game.

I just hope somebody from EA sees this thread and pays attention to the issues.

^ yet another top post in this thread. at times, 1v1 online matches are dictated by what seems to be player and or team morale, aka influenced AI. This is wrong - there should be as much on the players' minds than there is in the ball they're about to ruthlessly kick the krap out of, particularly being one of matches and not career based matches.

For months I've been complaining about these same problems that I suffer. But all people did on this forum was bash me, and tell me that I suck etc. etc.

^^ I feel you man. Alot of the stuff that I mentioned, not just about the online portion of the game, but about things like the FKs (which nobody seemed to have a problem with even though they're so ridiculously unrealistic), went ignored until recently. Then again this isn't really the best place to get your thoughts heard all the time as there are more than a few idiots just clogging up the place with silly threads.

Seems like the cheesers on the fourm far outnumber the guys that want a realistic game.

interesting thought this. i remember when playing with french teams that the score and clock facia was always blue. i personally havent seen this for months i have to say so i tried playing with all the french teams and then the french natioanl team and of course playing at home. it seems to have dissappeared. the facia is always black. i cant find the blue anywhere no matter which team i use. where has the blue clock gone ?

yeah I remember the scores being different for each country you played in, kinda made it ...different

now it's just all the same, hell if it weren't for the cut scenes every match is virtually identical

I've just gone back to playing FIFA 09 since I traded my old PS3 with my new Slim one... have to ne honest in saying unranked matches run really nicely for me, ranked matches are an absolute torrid nightmare. Sliggish and unresponsive.

My 2nd account is perfect on both ranked and unranked... so really can't figure out what is causing this on JUST my ranked gaming on my main account. I keep looking at my 400,000+ XP points tally in the bottom left and saying "its you, isn't it?!"

i deleted mine a long time ago. i even started a new account which also plays awful. a mate of mine even went to virgin media in case it was only affecting bt customers or bt lines. he downloads at around 15-17mb and has a ping time of around 11-15ms on a consistent basis and his plays worse than mine unbelievably. nice to speak to you guys again though

Just thought I'd update on my most recent experience:

I've played 8 ranked matches recently on my main 400k+ XP points account, lost ALL of them in unplayable unresponsive laggy conditions with horrendous AI and player switching. In fact, my 2nd most recent match, I was 2-0 ahead after 25mins - only then did my gameplay start getting handicapped and interfered with, and I ended up getting thumped 2-4.

In contrast, my 2nd PSN account with nothing more than 6k XP points plays like a dream in ranked matches and on the very same connection, two of the recent matches against opponents who beat me in my 8-game losing streak above.

So what's the difference? It certainly isn't the connection, it can't be the opponents when I played two of them on both with different results, so it has to be in some way account related

So how do I get EA Sports to reset my account and my XP points? I considered boosting, either to get their attention and reset/zero me (because they refused to do it by genuine request, which I can't for the life of me understand!), or just for the plain simple reason of boosting of course and get away with it, getting me back to where I deservedly should be only for this unfair carry on.

If my XP points are reset, at least then I can test for EA Sports if it makes a difference immediately before taking the same XP tally into FIFA 10 and possibly having to come up with the same issue...

That's the easy thing to say of course.

What if I want to stick with one account for all my online games, which is what I want?! And for FIFA, I'd like to build and meet players of my own skill level, not on a level 1 account, etc.

Long time without anyone posting. Just wondering if you are experiencing the same problems with FIFA 10. I bought it the day after its relese in USA and had 4 to 5 great smooth games, I was ready to forgive EA for the nightmate they made us go thru with FIFA 09, I remembered how great this game is suposed to be. Did not lose any game and then the nightmare started again, same unresponsiveness as in the past. Anyone else here with the same problems? It definitely is an account related problem. Why they don't want us to enjoy the game and beat other players? I don't mind loosing but, it is not fair that not only we have to play against another player but agaist our own player's unresponsiveness and lack of AI.
