is EAHQ like Google? Where there's a pool table in every room and people riding around on Segways?

Sounds like heaven

Anywho,

I have a problem, no not that Playing 2v2 last night, and the connection was..................BEAUTIFUL I mean so good, I've never experienced it like it, it seemed even better, bizarrely, than offline Everything was superb, no players were facing the wrong way, player selection was spot on 100% of the time, passing, shooting, crossing, all done exactly how and when you want them... everything was just FLUID and just well.....RIGHT. My 2v2 pal, from Sweden, agreed that the connection was oddly great, so it wasn't like I was drunk or imagining it or anything, or indeed my internet, location was the cause etc.

Anyway this lasted about 4 games before it reset back to the sluggishness of usual. ......and that's my problem, I now know fifa is a sublime game ruined simply by server connection.

hi all. been trying my new connection out today with fast.co.uk and its super smooth. low ping day and night and its spot on.

now my brother borrowed me his copy of fifa and its still the same old sluggish playability. i been trying quick ranked games most of the day and 1 thing is really puzzling me and dont know if it has any relation to the sluggish problem. i have played around 15 games today all from the quick ranked option and i have played people from all over the bloody planet and only 1 from the U.K. despite me having 'local players' selected in my options. ive had brazil, usa (about 3 times), france twice, germany, australia, norway, U.K. once and so on and so on. why would this keeping matching me up against players like this despite me wanting only local players?

im no expert but wondered if anyone had any ideas as to why the server thinks these players are local to me. i mean im bound to have a crappy connection when some of these guys are on the other side of the planet.

Rutter has said previously that the servers are extremely busy as there are record numbers playing this game like never before seen. now what happens when the servers become saturated? it just doesnt add up as to why it thinks brazil is a local player to me. are we being re-routed to another server or what? like i say im no expert but hopefully someone can explain this to me. is glen or daherlihy around ???

Hi dp

It looks for a game local to you then searches further and further afield to stop you or the other player waiting. It's not perfect by any means. Another thing to note is that ISP or top level ip addresses aren't indicative if geo location.

It's more complex than that but the servers main aim is to get you playing. Again not ideal but I can't think of a better solution other than improvi g what they currently have

glen, does this game use some sort of buffering system? it might not be possible to use it and i may be totally wrong but it almost feels like the game when playing it is struggling to keep up with the controller commands. somestimes even completely missing commands out and then sometimes lag. it just feels like the game is out of sync between myself and my opponent and so when it becomes slightly out, it becomes wierd and messed up and thus we see passes and scrambles every 5 minutes.

im pretty sure this is connection related but why when i have a good one.....

Didn't play Fifa for a week and went back yesterday and it all felt a lot slower. Has the game tempo changed for online team play and unranked matches? It all feels so slow and sluggish and the only other explanation is my connection but it's never been like this before..

Hmmm It could be due to ALS finishing, so players not now having moster stats, and acting like superhmans.

Hi guys,

I have read the first 50 pages of this tread (it is just endless ) without finding a solution to the problem we all are experiencing. Here is my input:

I have experienced all this unresponsiveness, sluggishness etc etc that you all have described since FIFA 08. Now in FIFA 09 it just happens in every single ranked game. I have played about 1200 games with my previous gamertag and around 250 games with a new account (thinking that might help the problem) and still the same. I have not had a single smooth game until this morning when for the first time y felt a smooth continuous gameplay and I thought it was due to a new update to the game as there were some different things on the screen; The top-left bar that shows the score and the clock, was BLUE not BLACK as usually, and it had a different desing, also the camera was set at a differente distance and angle. My big surprise was that the following 4 games the bar was BLACK again and the nightmare started over.

I am on a 360, does any one here knows what I am talking about?

Im on PS3 by the way, so have no idea what things are like on XBOX 360.

Traded FIFA 09 in too because I believe it is a worsening game.

do EA have a fair usage policy and have we been playin on there servers too much [/quote]

Well this is one of my main theories, I believe that:
1. probably we have played so much and they want to keep us away for a while or:
2. The fact that it only affects some of us makes no sense trying to determine a pattern other than we have been punished by some unknown reason (i.e. some EA programmer being upset because he was defeated and then he cursed our account, or maybe because we sent a Message considered prohibited to other players and then we got somehow tagged as members of the unresponsiveness/easily defeatable FIFA 09 players club).

P.D. After reading 85 pages of this tread I havent found a solution, is there any?

I would hazard a guess that it is because plenty of people have clicked on it, and then replied soon after.

I could be wrong, though.
