FIFA10 will have bugs.

Every game that's so complex does. It's how they go about rectifying them is the question.

Above all, they have to do something about their useless servers and have a look at presenting a game that gives equal quality to the average gamer with 2mb-5mb connection and adequate latency. No use bringing out a superb game if it's completely ruined by inconsistent and poorly maintained servers.

FIFA 10nline

You can use that

I expect copyright payments though

oh, and hope you had a thoroughly great time Glen, and can remember everything about FIFA10 in glorious detail

Yes it is better. Much better. To be honest the level of detail they have had to go in to to make it better is amazing but yes it is better.

There are a few things they have done to make it awesome (bare in mind that I was only privvy to a very small selection of 10) but I will put my balls on the line and say that if the had just done one or 2 of these things to 09 then it would of been a leap forward. But adding them all together its chalk an cheese.
Welcome back G, I've read everything so far and it sounds like you had a quality time.

What is Rutter like in person and the rest of the EA guys? I'm interested in the Santiago fella too as he was the one who started the gameplay thread - is he by chance the one you were able to have said 10 minutes with?

I hope whoever it was, was aware of how absent minded the players are sometimes - ie when they don't react to the ball or the wrong player doe

Anyways what you have said here sounds very promising, I'm looking forward to reading about your whole experience when you get the time.

ooh - where did you watch the CL final and what was the atmosphere like?

ciao for now

Hey J

Its nice to be back

David and the rest of the guys are actually really likeable. The other producers really listened to us and asked questions and wanted feedback.

We watched the champions league final in one of the cinema's they have there

Well its an auditorium but cinema sounds cooler....

I hope by that time you guys had settled in and there was a good flavour of banter around, I watched it with some mates 2 of whom are Man U boys so I gave them a good ear-bashing during the 80 minute humiliation! Loved every minute lol

So what does 09 feel like now you're back? As jealous as I am that you have been able to play the new game, I assume it must be more annoying now knowing what's missing when you play the current game?

On the other hand it might have opened you eyes to a few things about the current game that you hadn't really utilised before?

Exactly this. Did you know that super cancel has 2 functions for example.

If you tap it then it will ignore button inputs/memory but if you old it it puts you in to completely free roam!!

No. I use super cancel frequently and have never needed to do more than a tap not hold it in.

What is super cancel??? I am not even sure what that is!
Glad to see you had such a good time. The facility looked awesome from the various pics I have seen. Did you get to look at other games there as well? Do they have hott secretaries/ and game designing women?

You've never had your player appear to be on invisible rails and want to move him?

I always hold it just because I'm never sure if it's worked or not lol. I have found it very useful in clubs actually as you can position your player somewhere where it might normally be difficult to move to if that makes sense. On the other hand they can literally trip over the ball as if they don't know it's there!

So G's been experimenting with L2 and R2..... what do I read into that!!?

Yeah but usually a tap is enough.

I didnt realise that there are 2 different "super cancel" options I just thought it was contextual depending on whether you had pushed buttons first (tap) or wanted to move freely (hold)

I think he was referring to how FIFA 08 had a L2+R2 side dribble that allowed you to move the ball without jogging/running.
