Default Answers to Questions About FIFA 09.

Ok so ive been looking about and these questions seem to be asked alot or i just thought were worth answering.

How do you score Freekicks from....

18-30 yards?

Ok so first you should pick a player who is good at free kicks. (e.g C. Ronaldo, Gerrard, Juninho) What i usually do line the ball up just past the post. Then hold RT/R2 and B/O until its around 2 bars full. Right after you let go of the B/O button hold the left hand stick in this direction: \ until the player has struck the ball.

30-45 yards?

I find long range free kicks easier to score as the take alot less skill. First line the ball up to just inside the post depending on where the wall is (line it up to the post closes to the wall) Then Hold LB/L1 and press B/O until the bar turns yellow (as soon as it turns yellow.) now as soon as you press these buttons hold the left stick forward until the player strikes the ball.

How do i do Backheels?

No Matter what other buttons you hit, the backheel occurs randomly depending on the body shape of your player.

Is Brazilian player Ronaldo in the game?

No.

How do you do the Robona?

The Robona occurs randomly when a skillful player is running down a wing and crosses the ball in.

What type of kick has the most chance of going in dring a penalty?

Press RB/R1 and hold the left stick in this direction \ and press B/O until the bar is about to turn yellow. (NOTE: This is not foolproof but it is extremely hard for goalkeepers to get there)

What should i do in one on one situations with the goalkeeper?

Ok so its the same with almost everyone you play online. You get past thier defence and they hold the Y button.

You mainly have 3 choices.

1) Chip the Goalkeeper.
2) shoot.
3) try and and get round him.

The chip...

Ok so first of all the best place to chip the keeper is just outside the box, If you get to close the keeper saves it and if you are too far out you either dont hit it hard enough and the keeper can run after it before it goes in or you over hit it and it goes over. So when your just outside the box hold LB/L1 and tap B/O. Simple really.

Shoot...

I've been on the recieving end of this and the best team to do it with are Man U since Rooney and Ronaldo can potentially score from any angle.

Also a few other players who can do it pretty well are: Gerrard, Anelka, Lampard, Reira, Ibrahimovich (i think i splet that wrong), Shevchenko, Ronaldinho, Kaka, Henry, Et'o, Berbatov.

Players who have almost no chance with it: Torres, (yes i know but ive tried and tried but can't do it) Drogba, Keane, Messi, Andriano, Cole, Adebayor. (NOTE: These lists are of people who are big goal scorers so there are many more who can and can't)

Try and get round him...

This option is perfect for players such as Torres, Walcott, Drogba, Nani, Agboglahor, Carew and Andriano. Mainly because you can use the right analog stick to play the ball right past the keeper while you go chase it for an easy Goal.

OK, SO there is my list so far ill probably add more Questions to it soon.

Please feel free to comment.

Really nice. You cant shoot with Torres and get it in on a one-on-one with the keeper lol?

By the way is it even possible to go around the keeper? I always have Torres on my team as im either Spain or Liverpool but have never been able to do it...annoyingly enough the goalie just smothers it.

When i say you cant shoot with him i mean when the keeper closes down on him and is like 5 yards away from Torres.

Also, yeah you can get round them because the keeper comes out of the box and cant use his hands then so he has to try and slide tackle you but if you are too fast your already past him by the time he finishes the tackle.

Lol its fine mate. Anyway the right analog stick basically knocks the ball froward a few yards, Now as anyone knows people run faster off the ball rather than on it so when you knock the ball forward it gives, for an example, Torres a few seconds to sprint at his fastest, So when i keeper is coming in to slide tackle you use the right stick to sprint past him before the keeper takes your legs off.

The rabona does not occure randomly. You can do it by pressing some buttons. Only skilled players can do it.

YouTube - FIFA 09: Rabona tutorial

Stand facing the goal. Press the RIGHT ANALOGUE(ps3) towards your players weaker foot(Ronaldos weaker foot is his left, so you press left). Then you press the lob button(ps3: square), and immidietly tap forward on the left analogue(ps3). Try it.
