Default its just not fun anymore

I dunno about everyone else but i seem the play the same type of games over and over and over again.

Opponent picks a team I pick a team they spend 5 mins custom tactics to exactly the same as the guy i played before them and before that.

Its all the same 5-4-1 high pressure high agression all the time never any variety.

I know there are us on here that play the game differently but there are millions of other people who dont play football they play a game called win as quickly as you can.

An then do there 3rd back flip of the match from there throughball (lobbed of course) goal. No lateral passing or any thing. Just get it to MF and lob it. So I have to play deep meaning huge gaps between my MF and ST's or bring them all back and have to play through 8 bodies.

Just not fun any more

yeah but when I play i either play clubs or quick ranked.

As I said the people on here mostly vary it up but the rest of the world are just looking for the quickest paths to scoring goals constantly. Every match they do the same things

I play Quick Ranked. Glen, stick to YOUR gameplan. I play 4 - 4 - 2 and enjoy most matches.

I dont see too many people using the custom Tactics, but I enjoy most games by ensuring that no matter how they are playing, I adapt my passig game and play how I want to.

I dont see as many chipped Through balls either.....

I have seen less lobbed through balls but see the same tactics every game.

I personally dont mess with the custom tactics usually I just like to play and will adjust my style to each teams default formation and style.

Its just seeing the same paths to goal every time, and they try it constantly knowing they only need one time to work.

I score at the other end and this just spurns them on in to playing at such a frenzied all out pressing call second defender pace that is not fun. You litterally have to ping pong the passes to get to the small amount of space there is. It forces you to play a different way or you are just constantly soaking up pressure from 4 attackers and wingers........

I prefer playing my mates who just dont care or play unranked although even on unranked you get idiots who just want to win with man utd. does the headset work in fifa? id quite like to tlak to the idiots i play against sometimes.

I hear you buddy - I know this game is aimed at people of all ages, and at times I think that us adults are just putting up with a kids game. Sure you can score some great goals, pass and move well etc but what's the point if kids who don't understand these methods just want to run and gun, they're allowed to play their game with as much success, which like you say just isn't football!

Playing when you're wound up just isn't right either. we should know that from clubs! it's as if you want to score twice as many goals in your next game because you sucked in the last one, and as a result you end up rushing and giving the ball away, and at best you end up playing in the same way as them.

lately I've started to counter a lot better, instead of trying to score from a counter attack (unless I'm 100% clean through) I've been going down the flank, forcing the other team to defend and then start to knock the ball back to my defence and I find that from there I'm able to dictate the pace of the game more and your oponent has to play on the counter which I find easier to defend against.

Maybe too much fifa 08 and then too much fifa 09 has tainted my view.

I really only play 09 and LBP and very occasionally now GT5p. My time is limited to play and I love football, this isnt football now though its like table football and you know you play against that guy that just spins the bar everytime and there is nothing you can do to stop it going in.....

Its not the games fault but I really dont see the point of playing the way most people do. I dont care if I win or lose but I do find it demoralising to lose to the same style of play everytime. I play a few people who pick mediocre teams and STILL play the way they would with UTD. Then I see people pick average teams lose to me, go check there player hub and they have neve won a game and have been Bari or whatever for the last 10 matches and apart from my game they have played against UTD, CHL, BM, IM, LP I mean seriously what is the point of playing as a 5* team against 2* team. And I bet they all do back flip celebrations when they have litterally run round a 2* defender with their 90's players.

We are begining to see the same thing in clubs unfortunately the only saving grace is the number of human players introduces errors.

Beacuse when my 2 * team scores a blinder to take the lead, I cooly skip the replay and crack on with the game.

I completely get your thoughts on this - I just hope I dont get there yet

Glad I'm not the only one who have noticed this. We "elders" don't need football on speed, crack or any other stimulant. We need football, football and only football.

i love the passing game in fifa... its taken a bit of getting used to not just hammering the wings like in EVO.

fifa is all about positioning and exploting weaknesses.

pity my time is limited too else i would say add me and i will give you a more interesting game than the kids lol... although i might be man utd as ive not gotten used to many teams yet - i usually just get time to play whoever man utd/england are playing that week and my BaP with lincoln city lol...

DOA, that wasnt my actual point regarding the * differential though. I was just illustrating that scoring the same goal n number of times in a match because you can exploit the AI or team differential and then being soooooo please and impressed with yourself you do nanni back flips each time.

You know if you do beat them you get abuse or no real sense of satisfaction. I have played nearly 600 games on ranked and clubs now that I am passed "ha I beat that noob/fool/fan boy" with my lowly team.

Now I just play and get bored half way though. I had 2 games at lunch and they were the same. Because of the pace of the game this year some of the variety has been stripped out of the game. The difference between good players and bad players has grown and finding anyone in the middle tier is very difficult because of the **** up with the points at the begining so similar level players are either LB TB or super pressure specialist.

Yeah I get it totally. Its a shame that the players who actually understand the quality of this game are being driven away by the noobs.

well quit moaning and do something about it

you cold make up your own lobby and then all people who play your style of football (me included) can go their and play ppl we know are not noobs.

or create an online league but just use it to play games without caring about whos top etc..

just a suggestion btw

That's the worst part about it, I used to play a lot of PES and it seemed like most of the people I played had a similar approach to the game, whilst the majority of guys playing FIFA enjoyed the visuals and the bling of the game more. Unfortunately PES is out of it now so I am forced to play against these idiots who have a bigger variety of celebrations than they do goal scoring techniques.

No need to shut up. Its about time we managed an adult discussion on the game and it merits.

Better continue as the known trolls will be in soon to pop our bubble. Its nearly hometime from their borstals.

well I don't mind them so much, the less outrageous ones are better than watching the same cutscenes repeatedly, but the very fact that there is a set of 'finishing moves' just gets me, it's more like tekken or something, and like Glen said watching Henry hold his ear or do a back-flip because he scored a late winner against your 1* goalkeeper just winds me up something chronic.
