I guess my main point is that the game is structured in such a way that you can play exactly the same each time.

For example your right midfielder will ALWAYS be in a certain position from a kick off. Never goes back or wide etc but ALWAYS the same place.

The problem with this is that you can use this to your advantage when passing or attacking. Its the same with the defence shape and a few other bits.

We can all score goals pretty quick if we want to with a couple of runners and slide it inside. I dont do this though even when getting beaten.

Even with CT's the you can read the positionings 100% of the time and the most frustrating thing is you can see some of the goals coming but are almost just a bystander because the players are in the same positions all the time and the differential between AI players and human players is massive.

some good points on here
in my opinion its all about the speed.
the gameplay is mentally faster than the real life game we all love to watch on the box.
i wiiiish so much that the speed of the game was slower.
when you are ranked against someone away who is playing fast, its just up and down. well... like everything on this thread....
have you guys been reading the bluchamps thread?
the gameplay is iiiiiiinfanatly better with the speed of the players considerably lower.
the pitch seems bigger. every move is different, because you have to build up play.

yu just cant take it online... great.

so i really hope that next year, there will be an added option to make gameplay even slower. i say option. because i know lots/most people like it fast

what dya think?

that's spot on, the player's don't move around at all, In clubs it can be useful because there's so many headless chickens on the pitch that a bit of organisation can only be a good thing. I don't know what to say mate, there's nothing more frustrating than wanting a certain player to move in and intercept but the computer just won't let you select the man so he just stands there like the puppet he is.

Its all the same 5-4-1 high pressure high agression all the time never any variety.

I know there are us on here that play the game differently but there are millions of other people who dont play football they play a game called win as quickly as you can.

An then do there 3rd back flip of the match from there throughball (lobbed of course) goal. No lateral passing or any thing. Just get it to MF and lob it. So I have to play deep meaning huge gaps between my MF and ST's or bring them all back and have to play through 8 bodies.

Just not fun any more
Yeah m8 thats how it is online lol. People trying to do the same type of plays while their defence hugs ur nuts. Fifa09 practically made a game of football with rare lateral play, which is unrealistic. Most people just do 1 touch passes at 100mph and hopefully they make it to the amazingly long regular or lob through ball that ends up in crab walking defenders or the ball going over there heads. No one knows how to play the sport anymore, they just know how to play with base tactics.

Try a 41212 formation, I really like that formation for better passing and lateral playing.

i've read some of the feedback from bluchamps thread and it all looks great, I just don't have the patience to fine tune the whole game like that so I just put up with what I've got.

I've always said that players stats are all too high, a 90, as in 90% of everything he does is spot on, it's so unrealistic it's unbearable. .... I'll stop there I could write an essay about that but I'd rather not.

I will try that formation. The thing is though I play as so many different teams its hard to know who should be in the right positions lol.

seriously the passing is too good for the pace of play. In RL if my players passed that hard and fast to me I kick the Fker twice as hard back lol

Someone complained before on the forum about the lack of man marking and to be honest you dont need it as it seems everyone is man marked anyway even the back 4 get pressured more than is humanly possible.

Now I appreciate that they have to condense a lot of the game down to 10 mins but there is no flow what so ever no lul in the action just a constant barage back and forth. If you do try to slow it down you are faced with 3 player coming at you like the horse men of the apocalypse!!

This game favours high pressure and long balls nothing else. Sure there are other ways to score but most people find this method out and use that.

Anyways.......

As if you took the words out of my mouth. If I had a 5 year old LCD the ball would leave 30 inch traces all across the screen...

ooooh you'd probably still get the "tracer" if you have anything above 10ms refresh!

Its a good game this year but its marred like all fifa's by a few user exploitable weaknesses which unfortuantely mean that you will only ever realistically play the game 60% of its full potential.

Yep it looks like Pong on one of those green "fishbowls" from the 70's. Phosphor traces...

i play with chelsea i dont even like playing the man u i find them less fun and as a team less rounded. I'll play whatever style of football suits the match i prefer to build it up moving it around and forcing the opposition out of position but im equally as happy to play a clever through ball and get a breakaway . The one thing i want to learn is the scream from 30-40 yards when the ball dips. it took me till today to score my very first free kick with quasemera ( i bought him in mm for barca cause in my first 2 years as chelsea i bought messi from barca so there was a hole for a good player). I cant do the skill moves when im playing well not without loosing the ball.

I would love to join a league of people that just want to play the game and have fun and not hoof it up and down the pitch or rely on the slide tackle
