Default I'm in love with this game!

As a once avid Pro Evo fan and Fifa hater, i have to come out and say that Fifa 09 is unbelievably brilliant. I have no idea how EA managed to turn it around in such spectacular style after how terrible previous versions were, but my hats go off to them.

I've had the game for a month now and am playing on world class currently. The more i play the more i love it, and as soon as i master the long range shooting and volleys i'll never even think about Pro Evo again.

P.S. I've just started BAP with Fabregas and am gagging for it. Your teammates AI is so good compared to BAL on Pro Evo. They pick you out as soon as you tell them to, they play one two's with you, they combine with each other properly, it's just pure class.

The bugs don't really bother me too much because it's so good. If the patch gets rid of some/all of them then that's great, but i'll be playing it solidly until the next one anyway, bugs or no bugs.

I can't wait to get home and get it on!

Same here man. This is my first FIFA since FIFA 99 Been a PES diehard until this year. May the greatest football simulation win! Remember if PES wasn't around...FIFA wouldn't be this brilliant - competition breeds innovation.

I already play online. I enjoy that too, much better than Pro Evo, but I prefer offline because I don't care so much about losing and am prepared to experiment more.

I get what your saying, as I was too a die hard pro evo fan, but this year release of fifa 09 has converted me. A major factor was the fact I could configure the pro evo buttons to suit fifa. The game play and graphics are in my opinion the best available to date.

A lot of improvements from 08...I love the game but 08 had its plus points too. Sure the gameplay sucked but I liked the graphics better in 08...plus the kits...the new kids have weird lettering on them.

Another previously die hard pro evo fan here. Also need to master the long range kicks and I'll be set!

See fellas I'm the same as most of you..... (die hard since 99 etc) But the more and more I play online the more and more I get frustraded. I loose because of defensive mistakes done by the computer NOT by me.... I believe that EA has done a great job creating and making the "meat" of this game very nice but is frustrating ALOT of players

I've quit playing online. I didn't even bother to use live season. I always play offline and especially the exhibition matches. May be that's why I'm still addicted to this game.

Its a great game but i don't get why EA made the defensive line so high on default. can anyone explain why? i know you can change your tactics, formation, etc.. to move your defensive line higher but even then the CPU team will still play like this.

ditto i tried the be a legend and they didnt pass to me once in 5 mins... switched off and traded in.

BaP is a good way to learn this game a little more as you get more time to think with only 1 person.

fifa still needs some tweaks and some areas are still wayyyyyy worse than PES (changing cursor colours, better formation organisation etc, i really that defence/skill/attack etc spider diagram for the player stats.. much better than an overall score! )

It's all well and good being able to play with your formation more in PES, but when you actually see what happens on the pitch you realise you'd might as well not have bothered. Players swap positions, run back and forth all over the place, purposely stay as close to their marker as possible, and it just becomes a confusing mess. In fifa, i love how you see clearly the shape of the game, and the movement you see off the ball by the CPU is intelligent. It's hard to describe, but it just has so much more feeling of real football.

It's not meant to be a comedy its meant to be a football simulation.

Used to be a diehard PES fan on the PS one and PS2. But next gen consoles have left PES trailing like a turtle in a grayhound race. It used to be FIFA that was arcadeish, now it's the other way around.
