Default Solution for saving matches and replays!

Buy a DVD recorder with hard disk. Record all your favorite games. Make a collection. Like i did.

Not expensive. 170 bucks or 140 euros, but problem solved for life!

I am saving ONLY most interesting online games, and offline, and storing them on dvds.

If you have the money to buy Ps3, and its games, you surely have some to buy a Recorder.

How do you set that up? PS3 > Recorder > Tv

I use HDMI mostly what would I need to do?

GREAT idea, but not good enough for me.

I don't want a recording of a TELE cam.
I want the option of me going into the editing suite, and changing the speed and the camera, and then saving the finished format to hard drive.
And even then, I can still go in and edit it, slow it down, speed it up, etc.

EA should temporarily record the entire match onto your hard drive (It's only data of players running around).
And then after I'm done the match, I should have the option of watching the game and saving a replay.

(This was more directed towards EA than you mate)

I use SD TV.

But for HDTV, i supposse this would be a solution:

1. Set up HDMI connection between DVD and HDTV. Theres a HDMI OUT on the dvd.

2. Get the HDMI signal from the ps3 converted through the scart cable into dvd's VIDEO IN.
Im not sure can you use HDMI directly from ps3 to dvd, you have to check that. But Im using the SCART cable anyway as an SD signal.

basicly:

You have to transmitt your PS3 SIGNAL into the DVD RECORDER, and then FROM DVD straight into THE HDTV.

Thats the general idea.

Nope, no can do. HDCP. To do this on HDMI you need insanely expensive equipment. Pluss a dude/dudess with way above average technical knowledge to make you a pseudo HDCP recipient to fool the PS3 into thinking it's connected straight to the TV.

Uses component though. Have to use expencive cables to match even a £8 HDMI cable, and those could easily cost as much as the recorder it self.

Its difficult getting a HDMI signal into the DVD, because DVDS have no HDMI INS. You need special equipment.

But you can always record SD signal if you set it up like this:

1. Ps3 signal via scart into dvd.

2. TV and DVD connected via scart cable too.

This works for me as I record SD signals. SD recordings look awesome too.

I think you're asking a bit too much here. Just being able to save replays (from offline and online games) locally would be fine, as it's done in PES 2009 for example. There a replay goes back about 10-20 seconds of the goal scene, that should be fine. And you can save up to 50 replays on XBOX 360, also good.
For online games, it would be OK to save replays in the highlights after the game, but you should be able to watch the highlights again after the game by clicking on a menu point below "submit player review".
This is one thing that PES does better than Fifa.
