There's a whole lot of comments in many threads about the update.
I would appreciate that if we can keep specific reactions in here with regard to the fix on the so-called crab walk. I particularly want to focus on how this is actually effecting gameplay right now. Please comment if you've actually played the game with the update which was released today on xbox360. Is this actually making it easier for players to use the quick through ball or high ball tactic with speedy forwards? Or is this countered with more alert defenders? Or is the advantage gone further with the forwards since they're faster? Was the crab walk there in the first place to try and bridge this gap in speed? So is the game better or worse with this fix? I'm not really sure because I've only had time to play two matches with the update tonight. I will try it out more tomorrow, but so far I can say that allround play around the box seems more fluid due to sorting out that crab walk. I'm not sure if I'm right but they also seem to make better runs instead of skating/getting stuck around the defenders. What do you think? |

Well I would think that the fix of crabwalking would make through balls harder because....
--Defenders are usually the ones who get to the ball first. The outcome was 3 things.. -They control the ball/time the pass and the ball is safe. -They mess up the control/timing and the striker has 1v1, but depending on the bounce of the ball he might encounter crab walking aswell, but will most likely still go through 1v1, depending on the position of other defenders, as a defender who fails trips and has a fit. -They crab walk before they get to the ball, and get overtaken by the striker who goes through on goal. So I think really that whilst crabwalking can effect strikers, it is usually the defender who gets the worst out of it, so its a good patch! |

What I said was how it is NOW, before the update. After the update, I would expect defenders to still mess up through miss timing of passes/control, but defenders and strikers wouldn't crab walk which is in my opinion is a noticable percentage of outcomes. Its easy to predict how gaming will be without the crab walk, think what would happen if there was no crabwalk. Anything could still happen, like controlling ball to safety, striker tackling you/getting there anyway or you miscontrol it and give it away. It would mean people no longer have an excuse for making defensive mistakes, but it does make defending harder at times...... |

i have a PS3 and i think the crabwalk is when the opposition lofts or plays a through ball to the front man and your defender is chasing it as well. When this happens sometimes the defender will appear to strafe (walk sideways) really slowly and this lets the striker receive the through ball without any pressure as you're still "crabwalking" and failling behind. Hope that helps
