I was addicted To Gran Turismo.

I was addicted to Rainbow Six Black Arrow.

I love FIFA, but not past 1 am as I work early and have a young family too.

I've heard of different cases before. there was this chinese dude who died in a cafe after playing also for 24 hours straight.

I couldn't do that for 1 reason only:

I get tired and somewhat bored. there have been games that had me glued to the tv for hours yes, like resident evil for ps...the best resident evil series ever !! then gta, for ps2 , mario kart for snes and n64, goldeneye , mario 64 , there are several.
but I can't play for longer than 3 hours without resting a couple of hours, I mean after 20 minutes I feel fine but the game gets boring to me if I play it for too long in one sitting.

Consoles and online games should have an auto time lock off which they only let you play it for a certain times and for a length of time before you are locked out for a certain period

fifa online is to frustruating to play more than 4 hours straight. These things are common in MMORPGs rather than in competive online gaming,

Maybe I'm sad, but on the weekends I sometimes play for 12+ hours straight. Usually I am sleeping the other 12 hours.

Had a 56 hour maraton on Goal! back in 1993. Fell asleep in the final match and lost 0-1. Won't do that again.

The only game where i've come close to this kind of stint is Football Manager. You get too fatigued playing action games and your performance level drops, so you naturally want to stop playing. FM is another beast though. I used to play for up to 20 hours straight on occasions while at Uni. When i think about that now i'm like, "Ooph. Ze dark!". No way i'm touching FM again, it'll ruin my marriage.

I play 3/4 hours every few nights. When I was your age I wouldnt think nothing of doing an 8 hour endurance race on GT2 or getting some mates round for sensi soccer till we dropped.

But heres the thing its because people my age and older love games is that we have all these excellent games to play. If they had just said yeah this is good for 2 hours we wouldnt have the immersive or intense games we do today.

^ If I play for more than 3/4 of an hour for 2 days a week, my wife calls me addicted, and think I should seek help.

My experiences are as follows.

Me and my wife had just met, she came over to England and I sat playing FIFA 2003 on the PS2 for 7 hours non-stop. We were nearly divorced before we were engaged lol

The other one was when I was playing GT3, I had a 76 lap game to do and I passed out on the 70th lap drooling on my controller of my ps2 and my wife hitting me to wake me up at 4am.

I can tell you now, I did not break any lap times lol

We still laugh about that now but with having a kid, I could not imagine doing it now lol
