There are many games out there as, if not more buggy than FIFA 09, but everyone seems to see through these bugs.

I understand how you may think "why didn't they fix these problems during testing?", but do you ever think of all the problems they actually may have fixed during testing?

I stick up for EA as I find the negativity on these forums to be greater than most others I've seen, when in my opinion, and I know many others, EA have just released the greatest football game ever made
Fifa09 is the only football game I play, so me giving them stick is just me getting frustrated because I want an improved game. I understand they've fixed tons of bugs in the beta release, but how they missed these few (the moonwalk and crab) I do not know.

I understand how busy the fifa dev's are, and I respect that. I also don't disagree this is the best football game out there.

Like I said, I'm suprised the patch is coming and I'm hoping it will fix the issues.

Why does every thread have to turn into a battle on here.

I'm not sure. I made a comment on how much Fifa earns and get competed.

I am very grateful of the update. Fifa 09 is the best football game about right now and I consider my £40 to be very well spent.

EA don't have to patch the game for all of us, they already have our money. A lot of developers don't bother to patch their games.

Just want to say thanks to EA - I really appreciate it.

Yeah, they've probably got a lot of staff, but remember the great bunch of other titles they produce, its not like they put all their money and time behind EA Sports and FIFA solely.

Be thankful for what you are given, otherwise go and do it yourself
They have all different groups on the different games... EA makes a fortune - hire an extra couple of people to get it right.

I'm aware of how much programming is done for Fifa09, but these guys are professionals and paid enough. Please stay on topic. This is about EA, not me programming a new football game which is a pathetic idea. How many do you think work for fifa? You've got to stop with the fanboy excuses and admit EA should of fixed this issue before we forked out.

I'm happy they're releasing a patch, it was very unexpected.

Coding is a lengthy process - but one of the things they have to fix in a patch for this game is the Numbering... The numbering was IN the game last year and if they just kept it in, we could have have the weather fixed in this patch...

I think another major bug you should look is the fouls that are made by the GKs.
If you are in a 1 on 1 with a GK and you dribble him , if he makes a foul the ref wont give it and it's a major problem cause 99% it's a penalty and a red card...

Happy to see these updates though and that you are listening the player's feedback.
Well done.

Sorry mate I didn't mean to get into an argument with you. I am just a bit peeved off with how many complaints there are on this forum, even in one of the few positive threads!

bunch of lalalalalalas

How could EA just fix the side stepping problem just specifically on lobbed through balls?

He was just using an example of when this most commonly happens.

Obviously it will be fixed on all types of balls played through

And some of you are ungrateful ****ers, EA dont need to patch this game, they'll still get **** loads of sales next year,

Because we are all FOOTBALL fans at the end of the day.

great PATCH imo

I'm just hoping that the lofted through ball thing was either just a bad way to describe it, or will also sort through balls/passes in general

Thanks for the patch Ea .

I hope the 'invisible players ' issue is next up on the fix list .

Agree with MADNESS before. Absolutely ridiculous how many swear words are used in requesting something on here. It is disgusting. They are patching the game (which is what everyone has asked). You are still unhappy! Be grateful, and before ranting on about something they are trying to fix, thank them for the patch. They have listened to you after all, and you just repay them with even more abuse!

TBH this game will need more patches than someone who is trying to quit smoking.

The list of things that need fixing is endless and I personally do not think EA are going to do it all before 2010 comes out.

You can tell from the offset that it is not all going to be done.

They have to bring out a World Cup version, another main FIFA and then fix all these bugs.

I would personally and this is my opinion. Wait till 2010, get the WC version out and keep working on FIFA.

I do not think that people would mind aslong as everything is fixed and also with allot of extras

Lets face it, EURO 2008 was a test version for FIFA 09, it had allot in from it and they wanted the feedback from people on what they thought, so they could put it through.

They said that the player being able to TRAP the ball was a feature and now because of this, they walk side ways, backwards and everything and it has not paid off.

So my feeling is, the more they add, the more they take away and the more problems they are going to add, every time they add something.

Commentary packs have caused problems, Adidas Live Seasons is flawed and that has caused problems, trapping the ball has caused problems, taking out the number kit editor has caused it to give 2 to every new player.

I could spend all night on this but will not.

I love the game but there are issues, I have been a fan since 1993/1994 and that is when if there was a problem, you were in the **** because nothing could be done with a cartridge.

I unlike many can look past the problems.

So, my advice to all those people who pick at stupid things on the game. Get yourself a megadrive and FIFA INTERNATIONAL SOCCER (Which nowadays costs more than an XBOX lol) and then play, and then come back to 09.

^^FIFA 10, 2010 whatever, will be released in 2009, whereas the World Cup game (if there is one) will be released in 2010

Obviously this first update only addresses a small number of currently reported bugs/glitches, is there any word on when the next one will be released and which bugs will be fixed next please?

I doubt there will be. They will have the model of FIFA 09 now, and build on that for 10 from now probably. Things like a proper Edit Kit Number will be included in 10.

Maybe the will bed a little something with the January transfer update, but don't hold your breath.

Is it possible to download the patch to your PC then transfer it to the PS3 via a PSP.

The reason i ask is, my PS3 isnt online so the only way i can get the patch is if there is some way that i can transfer it from my PC.

i'm assuming the 'advantage' fix also fixes the PHANTOM cards? ie: i foul a player, they get the advantage, even take a shot and 3 game minutes later during a stoppage in play, i get a card folr the foul.....EVEN though they had the advantage and took said shot.
