Hi,

Where did you find the port listings? In the manual there are some indication but nut as much ports are used (at least not indicated).

I did opened the ports listed in the manual but i still have difficulties connecting to other players (a 25% change rate)

The port listings are in my book of FIFA 09 on page 20.

Have you set the IP to Static and put it into your console.

What console are you on???

Sometimes it may be that THEY are having the problem and NOT you.

Will doing this mess up the internet connection for my laptop or for other games on my PS3? Also, where do you find the long router address, and do you just enter it into the address bar on your web browser? Sorry i'm not clued up on this so i need every step explained in as much detail as possible. Fifa was working fine online for me but now it's lagging pretty regularly.

OK, I will start by your router address. Sometimes it is on your router or you can use this method.

The internal, LAN-IP address is normally set to a default, private number. Linksys routers, for example, use 192.168.1.1 for their internal IP address. D-Link and Netgear routers typically use 192.168.0.1. Some US Robotics routers use 192.168.123.254, and some SMC routers use 192.168.2.1. No matter the brand of router, its default internal IP address should be provided in documentation. Administrators often have the option to change this IP address during router setup. In any case, however, the private LAN-IP address remains fixed once set. It can be viewed from the router's administrative console.

This will not mess your any connections from other devices up as it will provide a separate address that only your console will use. It may even make your connections better as it will not just pick things at random.

You then enter the address you find in your web browser.

I checked yesterday and my manual also but aren't the same as yours. I bought this game in Belgium, my guess is that Fifa uses different servers?

I've set the Static ip and all is installed. Will check tonight if your port listings have a better result.

So is this for people who can't connect, or for people who experience bad/slow connections?

OK, you are on a SmartAX MT882

As far as I can see there is a Static IP configuration in your router menu.

Problem fixed thanks to your list of ports (wich isn't like the list in my manual, mine's much shorter). Thanks a lot.

At the moment I live in 'Limburg' but originally I'm from 'Oost-Vlaanderen (Gent)'. Don't use the Dutch commentators, only the english one. Don't know if there's an Belgium commentator in the game, don't think so.

Great, another satisfied customer.

Limburg, I lived with my wife in West Vlaanderen, Izegem for 5 years before we moved here and I miss it allot.

Although now that Eve leterme is prime minister, who could not even get a government together, not so sure lol

I had the dutch ones already and did not know but they are awful.

I wish they would do one based Rik De Saedeleer, now that would be good because all the rest now are just boring. (Belgian ones I mean)

Anways, glad you got everything working, strange they are not in your manual.

yeah the game session no longer exists is mostly them quitting on you or their connection falling.

Remember, the further you live away from the person in 1v1, the worse it will be because it is ran on the users connection and not from a server.

So the further you are away, the more likely it is to get LAG or GAME SESSION breakage
