2nd control pad causes weird 360 crash - on fifa09.

Got a weird problem with my xbox 360 -

Only happened on Fifa 09, so far.

- The game works perfectly with 1 controller connected, online/offline etc. All game modes.

- If I plug in a second controller, and try a 2 player (with a mate sat at the console) the game freezes at kick-off. Literally as soon as 2nd player presses a button.

I bought a second copy of the game, thinking it was faulty. But the new copy does the same.

So - it must be the consle, right? Or possibly the joypad?

Any ideas?

No not just you having that problem!!

I have a PS3 and have the same problem with the game crashing right after kickoff...
But only when there are two controllers connected..

i havent had it and i play 2 payer all the time

Same here. I'm always playing 2 player offline with my mates and i've never had this problem......Could be a coding error on a bunch of discs

This problem only occurs when I'm signed in on my gamertag. But when I play with my brothers, it works fine.

I'm having the same problem on my ps3. Deleting all the data fixes the problem untill i restart the game completely.
What do i have to do?
My specs: 1 DS3, 1 Sixaxis, PS3 40GB, European Fifa09

Has anyone crashed when playing a certain person online? Is it some kind of hack?

Did some testing. After a while I found a solution that works for me. When I started fifa, I went to the configuration screen of the controller. In my case, I don't use the stick to move around so i have a custom profile named "Custam A". When I went to the config of the second controller I saw that the profile was "Custom" without the " A".
When I changed it to "Custom A" or "Classic" it worked again. I closed down Fifa 09 and restarted it. Checked wether it was still "Custom A" and it was still selected. I started a match and it worked again

If this works for you guys, make this a sticky !!!
Let me know if it works ok?

I had this...it was my wireless Xbox adapter!! seriously! unplugged it and plugged the ethernet in..no more crashing!!
