Is this when loading a saved Manager Mode game? It maybe that the save has become corrupt. However, it would be help if you could say what season you are in and if you are in or out of the transfer window (if you are in the transfer window, have you just completed any transfers or loans?).

Hi - thanks for the message. Note this is the second DVD/CD - happened on our first one and we took it back to get a replacement thinking it was the disc. PS3 plays fine on everything else, is fully updated to the latest on-lince software version etc.
To answer your question: Is this when loading a saved Manager Mode game? - it occurs when simulating from a game (load mm ok, play game, when simulating) It maybe that the save has become corrupt. - tried different saved MM's - same problem However, it would be help if you could say what season you are in - First season and if you are in or out of the transfer window (if you are in the transfer window, have you just completed any transfers or loans?) - last game out of transfer - this one in the transfer - does not appear to make a difference... Please help as driving us crazy!!! |

I just want to add that I am passing on these recent posts about this to those that need them, and thanks for replying to the questions as the more information I have to pass on the better.

EAUK_Adroit.
I bought the game on the 3rd nov and as i turned my xbox on (one of the pre-order originals) before i even had the disc out the wrapper it red ringed (for like the 99th time) and the towel trick stopped working. So on the 5th i bought a new one and finally booted the game up. First thing i did was start a manager mode with newcastle. I use 2 save games cause i hate it when the games dirty cheating tackling kills my favourite players. Im at the end of season 2 and active save game is Savegame2. I switch the save to Savegame1 and continue to season 3. I get 3 games in Newcastle vs Man City i play the game and it goes onto "Simulating Results" for the other games. It reaches 15% and crashes. So i turn the console on and off and load it again. Sim the game this time and sure enough crashes on 15%. So i load savegame 2. EXACT same game at EXACT same %. So i get annoyed and start with Leeds. This time i make 4 save games. 2 for me to use and 2 for the end of each season. Savegame 1 end of season 1 Savegame 2 end of season 2 Savegame 3 + 4 current. I reach game number 10 in season 3 and it does the same thing at 15% "Simulating Results". So i load sg1 and sg2 and they both crash also. e.a. support tells me its either: Corrupt save game files - which i could accept if it was 1. Non standard stuff - doesn't apply here. Dodgy console - nope. I tell them the console is new. They tell me that i should check if there are orange or red flashing lights. I paste them the order showing its brand new. They tell me the disc might be scratch and that i should check the disc... If the disc was scratched it wouldn't be a random point in a random season and if it was the consoles fault or the save game corruption it wouldn't be the exact same point in the same manager mode either. The game is at fault. One of your developers is calling a class that instantiate's itself probably creating a loading loop that prevents the machine from actually crashing and actually continuing. This is why the fans start to spin up (its heating up) and why it doesn't just switch off. That's why they should use a different development methodology. Knowing their track record might I suggest Test-Driven Development (TDD). We use it here and it works wonders when you have people who cant tie their own shoelaces. I also have this same problem.
I am playing via an Xbox360. I firstly started a season in manager mode with Manchester united. Just after the start of the second season, I finished a match (played in full). The game then started Simulating. After reaching (what I think was 16%) if froze. The Xbox would not respond to anything pressed on the controller... Turning power off/on got me started again, but after loading my save game and playing the same match again for the second time, it froze again on simulating, at the same percentage. I tried simulating the match rather than playing it. again froze at the same point. I cant remember for sure but think the transfer window had closed. I thought it must have been a corruption of the save, so started a new season as DerbyCounty. Came first in Championship and gained promotion to premier league. Came 8th in my second season. Started the 3rd season, transfer window closed about two games ago. Made a few signings, and sold 6/7 players. After playing Tottenham hotspurs, the game started simulating - then froze at 8%. not this again.... Rebooted Xbox, same issue. Tried an adidas live season update, still froze after playing the same match. Changed my whole starting line-up incase it didn't a player i was using (like the old premier managers used to have a problem with occasionally) still froze. Simulated game instead of playing. same again. I really do not want to have to start again as I've built a solid 5 star team. And if I do start again, no doubt the same problem will happen. I did read on one forum to delete the "my squad1" folder. I didn’t read fully but I suspect this was not for Xbox, as I'm only able to find a "squad1" folder. the forum post also mentioned it would mean I would have to restart my season, but suggested it would stop the problem re-occurring. After not being able to find anything to confirm so on this website I'm again reluctant to try this method. Is there nothing that came be done to A fix this problem... Or B, stop this from happening again. My Xbox live ID is: Mr Flibble19 if that helps at all. I would appreciate an update, even if to acknowledge this is a problem within the game. Which I'm sure it must be for so many others to have the same issue, even on a different games platform (i.e. PS3) |

Im in my 4th season and it hasnt happened yet, but it makes me wonder if its worth putting all the effort in if the stupid thing is just going to bugger up and crash in my 5th or 6th season. Fifa 08 didnt have this problem so what have EA done to create it?

THANK THE HEAVENS THAT THERE ARE OTHERS LIKE ME OUT THERE!!!
Phew, with that out of the way, I'm having the EXACT same problems as you guys. It's not when loading MM, it's after you play a game and it goes to "Simulating Matches," get's to a specific percentage, the freezes. At first, I suspected that it had something to do with created players, since I had close to 20 created players in my first MM. I bought one of them and he was given the number 128. It froze as soon as the Transfer Window closed. I started my second MM with three created players, and I made it to season 2, and right after the TW closed, I played Spurs, got to 8% and it froze. No strange numbers on any of the Prem clubs, so it couldn't have been that, right? I started my third MM last night, no created players, and I was able to make it to the fourth game in the first season before it froze on me. If this problem isn't fixed within a patch, I'm just giving up on the FIFA series. I don't have much time to game, and when I do, I want to play MM, but I'm not going to waste my time on a MM that is clearly broke. EA, PLEASE FIX THIS ISSUE!!! sounds to me like the crashes from past versions is back in regard to maximum number of players on a team. stop buying more players and signing scouted players, and see if it crashes. i believe the max players on a team was 30, anything above and it would crash

If only it was the player limit problem, but I fear that it might be something worse
