Default FIFA 09 Guide - Formatted with Xbox 360 Controls

Hi folks -
I've compiled the EA guide, formatted it, added some other bits (including celebrations etc) and added the Xbox 360 controls. It's all in one easy 8 meg PDF for download here:

FIFA 09 Xbox 360 Guide - Masscot

(enter the three-letter security at the prompt in the top right and hit 'download')

I primarily did it for my own reference but hope you find it useful, and thanks again to the crew at Operation Sports for the initial information.

Glad you are finding it useful. Took longer than I ever thought it would to compile..!

Forgot to add: if anyone spots any errors, please post them and I can do an update. I had to determine a lot of the controls myself thanks to the inadequacy of the instruction manual sent with the game.

One thing I know is missing is the specific controls for the different types of corners. I'm not sure if it's just a case of aiming and how long you hold the 'X' button to get lobbed or driven corners, or whether pressing 'XX' has an effect. If someone knows for sure, please post and I'll update the guide.

You can obviously use this guide for PS3 as well, just substitute the buttons as appropriate. Not sure what they would be (I don't own a PS3) but perhaps someone could do a list eg 'Y' = Triangle or whatever.

Thanks for the comments.

Thanks for this mate! Awesome stuff.. not sure about the crosses tho - it only mentions pressing X and XX, where I thought it was X, XX and XXX, no?

Also, a lalalalalaeeky, but as it's a PDF I can't edit it... is there any chance of doing another version for if you have the alternative (i.e Pro Evo) keys set up?

I'll look into the crosses - cheers for the heads-up.

You'll have to get your biro out for the alternative controls I'm afraid - it would involve far too much work, and then I'd be inundated with requests for every control scheme going...

Didn't even know they existed! You fake a shot or lob pass by quickly pressing the pass button during the power-up, so maybe it's something like that? Anyone know for sure?

Dude.... you rule.
Thanks a lot!

I use the New Alternate controls since FIFA 07. You're still stuck on classic?

Yeah, classic all the way for me. I'm seriously old-skool...

Great Guide! This XBOX-version exists and I also found a PC-guide. But are there no guide for PS3?

Thanks a lot mate! It was very very very useful! I wish I had the writer to replace the Xs with lala and vice versa because I have further configured the ALTERNATE controls!

I've just found an uncorrupted Word back-up of my latest version of this guide (v1.9) so am able to edit it. There are a few changes I want to make (eg expansion and correction to some of the crossing controls etc) but if anyone spots any other errors or would like anything added or clarified, then please post it here and hopefully I'll have time over Christmas to update the guide and get it reissued for downloading. Before anyone asks, I can't do a separate version for the PS3 but I could include a table of equivalent PS3 control maps for reference if someone could point me in the direction of one (I don't own a PS3). I was thinking that adding some of BluChampBlogger's hints and tips would be a useful addition, pending his permission of course. If there's anything else then please let me know and I'll consider it - I'm trying to compile the definitive reference document for FIFA 09 so if it is useful, then it can be included.

Cheers.

Hello Masscot

If you dont mind some feedback. I'd suggest you do a video guide of how to use the different skill moves in a match. One thing is knowing the button combination, it's another thing knowing what skills are useful in which scenarios. I can help if your interested.
