I think you have to have both files copied to the usb stick yours and bluchamps then just simply overwrite sys-data only (overwrite his with yours abviously) hope this helps

It took me a while to get it too.

I think you first make a duplicate copy of your squad file on your ps3. ( save squad file 2)
then copy that file to your usb stick the make sure to delete the file from the ps3 memory, since bluchamps file is .rar file you must first open once opened save it to your usb.

after you have both saved to usb highlight sys data and just overwrite his to yours.
let me know if it works..

Yes, you must overwrite a previous save you had BUT that save file CAN NOT have a user submitted name! It has to have the "default" name of the squads file!

It will work that way!

Awsome work this..it reminds me of the old Pro Evo's although obviously better as it IMO it was better to start off with. It also cuts out the annoying occurrence of being able to tackle the center back and be through on goal when playing single player. Ive also had to adjust my play as I used to bomb down the wing and whip in a manual cross but its not that easy anymore..Also what ive noticed is the ability to beat players whilst running..im thinking this is because acceleration has been altered so if a defender is caught flat footed he cant easily adjust and catch up with a forward whos already at top speed..hard to describe but im impressed...its certainly stopped the ping pong effect too

So, did you do that or not?

p.s. - again, thank you for re-uploading the rosters!

Err I have tinkered with tactics on my own game, the file is from Feb so I can't remember exactly. Anyone else who is having problems with file, make sure you follow Renatus' instructions earlier in the thread.
n.b. the ideas here are based on Bluchampblogger's but he has had no part in making this file so please don't pester him for info! I think he's an XBox user!

The agression slider still is too high in EPL. But in La Liga and Liga Calcio they are below 30 (more than this the game becomes "annoying" with the CPU ALWAYS on top of you).

But i remembered that the custom tactics donīt get saved in the squads file, they are saved on the profile file...

What have you changed in the custom sliders for the teams? in general i mean.

Have you made sure youve loaded the squad file when playing FIFA for the first time? It will load your default squads till you load the new file.

Default Installation Instructions

Hi guys, sorry some of you are having problems. I'm a bit short on time to be checking files etc. myself but here is the definitive guide to installing the squad file. If you follow these steps exactly I can't see any reason why it would not work. It seems like a long list of instructions but it really doesn't take long and is well worth it. Any problems, let me know and I'll try to help.

Dave

1. Load fifa 09 on your ps3 and create and save a new squad file. You can use your main one too but you will be overwriting it so it's better to create a new one.

2. Quit the game to go back to the ps3 dashboard. Go up to "Saved Data Utility" and find the squad file you just created. Make sure you have your usb drive plugged in and hit triangle, select "Copy", and select your usb drive as the destination.

3. After it copies, remove your usb drive and then hit triangle, select "Delete" to remove the squad file from the ps3.

4. Plug the usb drive into your computer and open it up. Go to the PS3 folder and then the SAVEDATA folder under that and you should see a folder starting with "BL". If you have a euro game it will be something like BLES003140102 or if you have a US game it will be something like BLUS301760100. If you don't have this you didn't copy it right.
Open that folder and you should find 5 files inside named ICON0.PNG, PARAM.PFD, PARAM.SFO, PIC1.PNG, and SYS-DATA. If you downloaded the file davesaul posted you should also have his BL folder with the same 5 files. Take the SYS-DATA file ONLY from his folder and overwrite your own SYS-DATA file. Don't do anything with any of the other files!

5. Plug the usb drive back into the PS3 and go back to "Saved Data Utility" and select the USB Device. Find the squad file and hit triangle then copy to copy it back to the PS3. If you didn't already delete the PS3 copy back in step 2 it might prompt you to overwrite.
Now you should be able to start up the game, go to load Squads, and you should see the "squads edited" file from davesaul. Load it, go to edit player, then go to Serie A/Milan. If Kaka has a rating of 89 then it worked. It's obvious if its worked - many teams e.g. Liverpool will have less stars - and you can tell by the player speed in-game!!

Firstly can I say, greatwork DaveSoul, fifa has all of the potential 2 b a great simulation of football, its just a shame that the developers at EA can not recognise this.

Im having problems with the file that was uploaded by DaveSould. I have transferred the info as per your instructions, & it works fine until i try to either download the latest adidas live update, or customise a formation. If i try 2 do either of these, then it simply freezes.

Is any1 else experincing similar problems, & more importantly is there anythin that can be done about it??

Please help! any1!!

dnt update the addidas live, have a seperate squad file if you want to have the updated squads n formations becasue Davesoul did his great work before the transfer window so some players arn't in the file such as Ronaldo9 so if you try n update it will freeze.

so basically have one squad file for Davesoul edited file and another for the addidas live update.

hope that helped

Very odd. I checked the download link and you are right. It seems as if someone has altered the file. The folders within the zip file are nothing like my FIFA ones and the dates are a year out. Probably someone's idea of a joke. Ha I fear my sides have split...

Filefront is playing up, I'll upload the file again shortly.

Here is the file, correct as of the end of the January transfer window. Hopefully we won't have to do this again for FIFA 10 cos they will have sorted the speed out, but if we must!

Enjoy...

Lol just found this thread now after trying to do the same for Fifa10. Are the players who tried it and liked it still around on here now?
