I need to try this and and play a few matches and report back.

Do we edit the goalkeepers two attributes of acceleration and sprint speed or just all the outfield players?

Here are my REALISTIC GAMEPLAY STYLE AS IN REAL LIFE tactics for Milan and Real (for CPU to use):

AC MILAN

Build up

speed - 40
passing - 30
organised

chance creation

passing - 75
crossing - 40 - 50
shooting - 65 - 70
free form

defence

pressure 25
aggression 65 - 70
team width 35 - 40

offsidetrap

Its very realistic, and with the pace attributes lowered by 15, or even 18 its amazing how they play.

REAL MADRID

Build up

speed 35 - 40
passing 30
organised

chance creation

passing - 60 - 65
crossing - 70 - 75
shooting - 75 - 80
organised/freeform both work (maybe free form could be better)

defence

pressure 35
aggression 70 - 75 (finesse choice)
team width 45 - 55 (finesse choice)

cover

I am glad you liked this idea, because it seems we have a similar way of thinking you and I. I really want to make this game as interesting as possible.

Lets work on this new thing..

Some facts on some players (for individual realistic editing), IMO:

G.neville - solid passer, not perfect reactions, can lose ball often, can be outruned, can lose possesion but no so often.

Vidic - good on the ball, but can lose possesion, good passer, good long passer, but also good in winning the ball, reactions, not always ideal, so & so.

Ramos - Good on the ball, good short and long passer, good on winning the ball, cannot be outruned easily, but thinks to much durin play (which means you could alter his mentality)

Nani - good passer, can lose possesion, good crosser, good shooter but not too accurate.

Rooney - good runner but can lose possessions, good shooter, mostly accurate but can go wrong, always accurate in passes.

And basicly, its things like that. So when you go ahead and edit these players, you will undoubtfully have the best gameplay experience yet!

I am at work now, but i cant wait to get home try this out. Itll be a lot of fun.

Enjoy guys.

When i come up with suggestions, i will post them, and so will bluchampblogger i am almost sure of.

The only solution, is to DELETE all fifa files you have saved on ps3, (unfortunately), and start a new session of fifa, where you choose all the specifications (like difficulty, and so on.... and there it ASKS you again, do you want live season, so basicly you pass on that this time.

cheers. Its the only way I think.

Hey guys,

Lets all POST SOME FACTS from "real life" on key players, so we can all look at it and do our separate/individual tweaks.

If somebody has some new info on CERTAIN PLAYER REAL LIFE CAPABILITES post them here, for all to read please, thanks.

I posted my share for now.

On 360 go to My FIFA 09 General Settings, Advanced, and then go to the last tab and you can turn it off there.

Should be similar on PS3

Mostarac . . I think we are skipping a couple of steps here. We should wait until people try out the sprint speed / acceleration tweak and find it satisfactory. After we are done with that, we can have separate discussion for the tweaking of individual player attributes. What do you say? Meanwhile, you can post your experiences of the new gameplay in tweaked speeds.

Yes, you're right. There's no need to rush in. We can talk about it later when people get the hang of this first. I agree.

But its certainly a concept worth paying attention thouroughly later.

However, i have another idea regarding the tweaking of acceleration/sprint. I thought about this a lot. Basicly the concept is that the combination of these too produces the "gamepace". In real life not all players have identical acceleration and sprint speed. I was considering in taking one player, and playing around with the "proportion" or the corelation (or relativness), of his acceleration/sprint speed attributes and see how it affects him...

For example,

How does a player run, if his acceleration is quite LOW, while his sprint speed is HIGH? Or vice versa? And what effect it has on "gamepace"?

We need to think this through, and when its done, then we can figure out, the average corelation of these two attributtes for ANY TEAM.

The formula for this is basicly:

X acceleration + Y sprint speed = value A

Y acceleration + X sprint speed = value B

X being here the lower value, and Y being the higher value of attribute.

By changing the value of the X/Y parameters, we would constantly get different results of the GAMEPACE. Which is exactly what we are looking for here. To control and set the gamepace to our liking.

In other words, we dont have to reduce/increase both of these attributtes by the same amount. It can be different. Depending what gamepace you want to achieve.

I was wondering the same thing. For anyone who has started making the edits, are you doing the goalkeepers too? I would think you would want to apply the same decrease for everyone to keep it consistent. Is there any reason not to do it for the keepers?

Not doing for the goalkeepers. Anyway, they don't get to run so much. For the amount of running they do, these attributes mean less, unless they come up for the last minute corner and they need to run back to the goal. Still it won't matter as it would be a long shot which is never going to be stopped by him.
